Light specks of dandruff graciously floating in the air here in West Clare, completely unexpected.

Excellent. I've the winter tyres on the bike, the kids have wellies and rain pants in their creche bags, nothing like cycling home in the snow

As a relative newby I've been trying to keep up to date with the progress of this system but the volume of posts is making it impossible. Any chance of a locked tread by some of the posters to give updates on progress, likely quantities etc? Not taking away from anyone else posting on here, it's just when you are trying to work its hard to read 100 posts an hour!
    Thanks!!

Wintry showers penetrating further west than forecast, light snow here, west mayo.

They are very localized. Nice to see. Im telling the kids its going to snow and they wont believe. Pity when we get a load of it thurs/fri it will probably be too windy to bring them out.

Put a few stones in their pockets to stop them blowing away

Showers starting to beef up in the Irish Sea. Is the IOM Shadow in play or is it off today?

Brief but heavy falling of snow in UL that lasted about 15 minutes or so. Now eased off again and almost stopped.

I have a view over Howth from Booterstown and I can see a dark cloud well past Howth. It is still very bright here though and bone dry. Less windy than 2 hrs ago...
