I reckon 24hrs from now, probable Red alert for east Leinster, parts of south Munster. Orange alert for the rest of the country and probable Yellow alert for North West.

I hope cork gets red though won't be merited where I am based on current forecast.

I was down at those lakes this morning when the firsr flakes fell. Is much milder now. And the east wind is howling. I live just below that hill. Should be fun come Thursday

    Except the Eagle

Hehe, we'll leave him off. Who wanted to see rain and sleet anyway.

Very fine line but likely inland South munster, towards Leinster border. Just waiting for more than 2 charts to agree on something now :D

Friend at me wondering when the snow is arriving... luckily we'd just had a hailstone/graupel shower.

Far too cold to snow you’d say. I can see this blowing over unless it warms up a bit

Extremely stupid question I'm sorry but right in what sense specifically?

Also does anyone expect trains out of Dublin to be cancelled? Commute from Midlands and do not want to be stranded at work next few days

Glorious sunshine in Santry. Not been outside but when they door to the office building is opened you can feel the cold.

In every sense; timing, location, intensity, temps etc.

    I hate this saying.
It snows in most Eastern European countries where it is much colder than anything we will ever see.

In the words of Billy Connolly ' 'have you ever been to the Arctic? It's fu*kin freezing!'

Erm, OK. Everybody out, Bert says it's not happening

(it's never to cold to snow, it can be too dry to snow)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,789 ✭✭✭PowerToWait

This what was quoted in the OP many days ago

    Tuesday

Increasingly frequent and heavy snow showers effecting eastern counties (these may fall as rain, hail or sleet in the morning/early afternoon). The snow accumulating by evening.

Raw. Top temperatures 0 to 6c (coldest in the east)

So far from a Dublin perspective that forecast is bang on.
