As title suggests what car do you think is the most out dated currently for sale? It mainly relates to aesthetics and not the innovation packed into cars.

It has to be the Fiat Punto running from 2005 !!

But what about in the other car sectors? Mini, Economy, Small/medium hatchback, family saloon, luxury , crossover and SUV .

    For me it’s as follows:

    Mini: Fiat 500
    Economy: Fiat Punto
    Small/Medium Hatchback: Ford Focus
Family Saloon: Hyundai i40 / Toyota Avensis
    Luxury: Audi A4/A6
Crossover: Dacia Duster or Hyundai Tucson (mainly because they’re everywhere)
    SUV: BMW X5

Suzuki Jimmy..... I think they have been on sale in the same guise since about 1998, or at least were until very recently. There is a new one coming out soon though :)

I think the Yaris has pretty much the same bodyshell from 05 (Japan) or 06 (Europe). Aren't they still using the same 1.0 3 cylinder unit?

Saw a 171 Volvo S60 recently with Halogens

Well due a change at this stage

The black on red isn't the worst, even though having to recognise the year by the paint job is pretty damning.

For me it's the Corolla, that thing is around since definitely 11 as the neighbour has one, maybe 10.

Yes, forgot about the S60, out since 2010 I think!

Yes definitely, out since 2006 I think with little changes.

While we’re on Mitsubishi, the Lancer is another contender for this thread.

    Here’s a 2018 one for sale with a dreary 90’s interior

Can we add "New" Opel Corsa which had a new bumper, headlights and dashboard over previous model which is based on chassis shared with Punto :)

The Dacia's looks like an early 80's. That said when all these fancy electronics in other cars fail, dacia's may have the last laugh.

Have you seen 80s cars? Most of them were drawn completely with a ruler . Straight lines and angles everywhere.

    For me it’s as follows:

    Mini: Fiat 500
    Economy: Fiat Punto
    Small/Medium Hatchback: Ford Focus
Family Saloon: Hyundai i40 / Toyota Avensis
    Luxury: Audi A4/A6
Crossover: Dacia Duster or Hyundai Tucson (mainly because they’re everywhere)
    SUV: BMW X5

I don't get why the 500 is in your list. Its a retro reboot.

Curves do not save the Dacia from being dated.

Personally if I were in the market for a Fiat 500 I’d save 1,000s by buying a 2008 model that is identical to a 2018 model and if it was a UK car I’d put a private plate on it.

I agree with you that it’s a retro car but on my list because the 500 has been out since 2008 with little or no changes to entice current or new customers to the 500. Also the 500 is a Ford Ka underneath.

What car would you replace it with on my list then? (In the super mini sector)

I think its aged really well but the Mitsubishi Lancer from 08 is fairly old and forgive me if im wrong but I havent copped a new model yet.

Suppose me thinking its aged well goes against the dated idea of the thread:pac:

Its kinda of a classic (aesthetically) as is. I'm not sure why you'd mess with it. That what attracts people do it and its cheap.

Unless they did something like Honda EV Concept or VW Buzz

You said aesthetics so whats underneath is irrelevant. I suspect you just don't like it.

The people buy them buy them new on PCP because its cheap. I dunno where you are going with the whole year/plate thing.

I actually really like the 500 (guilty pleasure)

The 500 was the first car I thought of in the super mini car sector that I thought of that has remained almost unchanged since 2008.

You’re welcome to give suggestions on cars you think are dated in the super mini sector!

I think the mini is now butt ugly. Nothing dates a car like ugly.

The other thing is the Utility SUV kinda like boxes 80's styling. Especially in the States retro SUV is in big demand.

It's not the same bodyshell at all. The current yaris was launched in 2011 and recieved a facelift a couple of years back.

Current Pajero is out since 2006. Still a nice looking thing to look at but old inside IMO

The current corolla was launched in 2013. The one your neighbour has is the older model which was launched in 2007

It's really out since 1999. I think it has the same interior for the last 11 years.
