Would have been an absolute travesty if we had pulled it out the bag at the end. Congratulations to Ireland but a huge amount of work to do. We should have lost by 20-25 points and ye let us back into it. I hope ye beat England (as will all of Wales) but ye have to work on that defence. Six Nations is over for us, thanks Gatland. Whatever about Warrenball and his arrogance, "Gatland's rule" shows the man is a clown and the fact he only manages three years out of every four proves his greed. And the WRU think it's good enough!

Farrell was absolutely immense on his debut today. So impressive in both attack and defence. Great to see a guy come in like that and do so well. Porter had a wonderful game too. Locked down the scrum all day and was energetic in the loose. Great to see new faces do so well.

Game was won by our back row today though. Leavy was fantastic.

Just to add the Rob Kearney was a complete liability today. Beaten on the outside a few times. Beaten in the air repeatedly and a mindless effort at a drop goal. He needs to be put out to pasture now. Maybe Carvery should be full back and be used as a second playmaker to Sexton?

Ringrose for 23 shirt against Scotland. Farrell was immense today

ITV are giving Wales too much credit, they should really have been put to the sword. First France, then this, Scotland could easily catch them if they’re allowed think they have a sniff.

G’wan Farrell though, balls of steel.
I’ve been on the fence about Ryan but he was great today too.

We played some great attacking rugby today and scored a boatload of trys. **** the moaners and begrudgers

    Fantastic win

Sexton had a poor game today....we should be grateful that the Scottish game is next and he can get over his yips before the England game.

No he didn't. He kicked poorly. You're off your rocker if you think the rest of his game was poor.

So happy with that. 5-0, wouldn't have ever thought that possible.

Great result, but some serious passengers in the squad today. Kearney and best were very poor.

Farrell was savage. Had not really gotten a good read on him until today. I think Aki is very useful also. Lovely to have a bit of depth and variety with our centres.

Tries conceeded were pretty sloppy. Any bit of loose ball in our 22, or a sharp pass by the welsh out wide, and it looked inevitable that we'd conceed points.

Scrum was immense. Our forwards looked like giants compared to theirs, everytime there was contact we seemed to drive them back miles.

The worrying thing is that it wasn't great back play that got Wales back into it.....Ireland were just consistently short of numbers out wide.

We came up hard and then stopped which allowed the Welsh midfielders time to float passes wide. If you blitz then commit to it and stop the ball going wide.

And.... don't care if I cop some flak.... but McFadden after today's performance shouldn't be near the squad... Zebo sitting on his arse today and it's a disgrace he's not in the squad....we could rue his absence come march 17th

I wonder what we were thinking when we tapped and went rather than go for the points? I was sure this was going to come back and bite us in the hole

Sexton or O'Mahony as Captain would be better. Best very muted.

    Right, come on Scotland

    Attack was very good.
    Scrum was excellent.
    Line out good.
    Maul very efficient.
    Kicking was poor.
    But our defence was shocking.
Can this be rectified for the next two games?

Kearney got caught out by North once or twice at the end but other than that I thought he was very good.

    I'm no Kearney apologist either.

Sexton's kicking has been poor. But overall his play on the pitch today was great.

My highlight would be his pass to Stockdale's 1st try of the match as that was superb.

Many errors, a lot of naivety, but we scored 5 tries so a step in the right direction there.

First time we’ve scored more than a single try against France, Wales or England since 2014 I believe, according to Brendan O’Brien

Scotland will be no pushovers. Total focus needed for all games.

Jesus the level of negativity on here, you’d honestly think some would prefer us to lose. Mixed the rough with the smooth in terms of accuracy today. Hopefully we are building towards an 80 minute performamce in Twickenham. At times today we were brilliant, as we were against Italy. If we can build on those last 2 performances, we should be in with a good shout of the slam.

Or his handoff against Williams in the first half:D

He seemed very athletic too. Broke a few tackles and generally looked physical as phook.

I'd normally stick up for Kearney but thought he showed his age in a lack of acceleration for a couple of missed tackles.

Otherwise thought we looked a bit more composed when Sexton went off, strangely. I think when he's off he can throw off everyone else too

He looks very slow and lost high balls that he should be favourite to win. I still think he can have a role, but it's time to phase him out of the 15
