I remember the couch putting up Sanctuaire as a cert in one of the handicaps, the look of disgust on Nichols face!

I remember him too it was the betfair forum preview I put a reminder to back the horse then decided not to and was sick afterwards for not backing it

I often think I'm the only person I know who didn't back Sanctuaire in the 4yo handicap

Everyone backed it, and told me to back it

The Couch brightened up many a Festival Preview evening with his jokes. A personal favourite was when he dismissed Irving's chances in the Supreme on the grounds that most of his form was on pancake flat tracks in Germany. "I blame Bomber Harris" was the throwaway line.

There was always one race a year where his line would be "If (horse name) wins the Champion Hurdle, I will walk down (street name) butt naked."

Eagle Lion running in the pertemps qualifier tomorrow. Amazing that such a small yard has potentially another horse for the Pertemps third year in a row.

Irish Field Cheltenham magazine out tomorrow - anyone got it previous years? Worth the €7?

King is one of the most ignorant pricks I’ve ever met. Plenty of big owners in the UK won’t touch him apparently. Not a manner in the man at all.

Bet365 gone 1/2 on Samcro. I love him but that's crazy short for a novice, antepost.

He's not far off evens on exchange.

there will be 2/1 special on the day at least.

Many will take that too. I know lads who only clue into horses for the week in March yet they're already talking about Samcro being the biggest banker.

Does Samcro win that race 2/3 times? Probably.

The only 2/1 available will be on a 20 quid signup offer imo.

There'll surely be 4/6 to evens about before 11 in morning though, especially if any of day one short priced favs lose.

Evens on the morning of the race I’d imagine.

It’s a stupid price 1/2 anyone backing it needs their heads checked . A race to watch rather than back.

I think On the Blind Side e/w is the value bet. Proven at the track also which is a huge poaitove and will improve again with the good ground imo.
