Getting up and leaving your house with big boobs is far less an imposition then applying scar make up and putting in a false eye before heading outside.

Then don't uninvitedly stick your nose where it's not wanted, literally.

I remember when I was a 19yr old chap I met into a hen party one night in Waterford.

The girls were great crack at first but they decided it would be great fun to start pulling my clothes off as they hadn't hired a stripper.

The shirt I was ok with but when the trousers started coming off they seemed surprised that I drew the line. Surprised that a man wouldn't like to be naked in a nightclub with a group of overweight middle aged women pulling out of him.

Just imagine if the sexes were reversed.

Could she not have just knee'd him in the cóck? Probably more painful and not permanent. I'm sure her boobs got better, his face wont. Acid/glass attacks are the height of scumbaggery.

    Or better yet...
Imagine you'd glassed one of them!

It's OTT but both of her hands were occupied at the time (making her vunerable) and she probably got the shock of her life and lashed out automatically. If he didn't initiate it, it simply wouldn't have happened.

I was in Temple Bar with female friends (lesbian couples) one leech kept harassing one of the women and wouldn’t take no for an answer. Telling him she was with her partner would have made his letching worse so I advised the chap she was with me and to go about his business- it’s awful how much unwanted attention women have to endure on a night out.

Straight Female friends tell me they prefer the gay clubs cos people there aren’t leering at them and groping them,

Forcing yourself on someone unwarranted is the height of scumbaggery. Her's was a reaction.

To dance and have fun with their friends - and they should be afforded a safe environment to do that

Do you understand how frightening and humiliating that must have been for her? You cannot make someone feel demeaned and afraid for their safety and then choose what her reaction is. Was it over the top? In hindsight yes it was. However, she had seconds to protect herself and she did just that. His actions caused him being glassed, not hers

Tbf, in my experience anyway, the creepy pervy handsy pansy louts tend to be few and far between.

So if it was a knife in one of her hands and her reflex meant she stabbed him in the neck? Would that just be swept away as defence?

Yeah hes a fair old gobshíte bastárd who definitely deserved to face consequences. He most certainly did NOT deserve his face slashed. No one except perhaps pedo's deserve to have their faces branded like that.

What else do you call acting to stop someone from attacking you?

Can lead to testicular torsion, loss of a testicle, and potentially blood clots and death. Slapping him could have led to him falling over and hitting his head. Basically anything you do to someone could wind up having unforseen consequences. It's not like he gave her any warning so she could mount an appropriate defence.

To what end? If she had decided to kill him by glassing his neck as a reaction that's fine because he started it? There's clearly some sort of limit there, I'm not suggesting what it is but the other poster clearly thinks glassing is too far.

I've agreed with much of your posting in this thread, people who go out of their way to assault (sexually or otherwise) another person in large part deserves whatever reprisal they have coming for them. But surely there's a line of severity depending on the situation.

That said, I completely understand the OP's reaction in the situation given they were holding 2 glasses and it was a completely instinctive defensive move.

Loads of assumptions there. Nobody said she slashed or branded his face. She said she broke a glass over his head. Stop using hyperbole. Secondly, why would she have a knife in a pub?

What he did was unwarranted, it was plainly unwanted, unexpected and wrong.

But yes, on a scale of wrongness.
Smashing a glass into someones head is worse and much more potentially life limiting.
I know a number of people with facial scarring from similar instances of being glassed (Not for the same reasons of course) and 1 person in particular who has lost an eye and significant scarring due to being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Getting up and leaving your house with big boobs is far less an imposition then applying scar make up and putting in a false eye before heading outside.

That's the important difference between the two circumstances there banie.

There's no comparison between the two circumstances you're attempting to draw a comparison between btw.

I was raped at 17 and I’ve spent my whole adult life never feeling clean within my own body. If I was ever in that position again, being raped and knowing now what I didn’t know then, I’d have no problem doing whatever it took to make it stop, and yes, if that meant stabbing him, that’s on him.

Yes, it would. It would be an unfortunate consequence, but when you attack someone you have to take your chances vis a vis how they react.

We don't know that he had his face slashed.

Pubs here have knives to cut the lemons/lime barstaff will give it to a regular to cut their own if they are busy at the bar serving a big crowd.

But sure theres no scale. Touch a woman and she is allowed do whatever the fcuk she wants and its called "defence".

Maybe a Twitter hero could get loads of retweets if they had a weekend of no girls in nightclubs. This would be to raise awareness to clubs to sort it out.
Maybe if it was such a big a deal as you are letting on it would be followed by all and sundry.
Sure the men wouldn’t go because there’s be nobody to grope. Publicans would get scared.

Well thats a rape I said pedo's/rapists deserve glassing/acid (actually I just said pedo's, meant to include actual rapists aswell). That is QUITE different from head into boobs. Or at least it used to be nowadays it doesn't matter.

In Florida you can shoot someone you feel threatened by under the “Stand your ground” law- but no one is advocating anything like that, and your replies don’t seem grounded in reality

So a woman needs to wait til she’s being penetrated before she can defend herself? You do.not.maul. Another body without consent. You just don’t. If you do, then take what’s coming. If you decide to manhandle another human body then you do not get to choose what’s an appropriate reaction.
