you've never heard of James Corden?

No never, I think I saw his face before but that's it, I live outside the anglosphere though

Never heard of the guy till now, I didn't realise those American chat show things were so popular outside of America

He's a British comedian who moved to the USA.

As Stewart Lee said in the video; "England's loss is America's loss".

A lack of talent is what you need to get to the top.
Look at any company not run by the founder.

Jaysus, I think he's brilliant on A League of Their Own

I didn't know he was hated that much. I like him on A League of Their Own and Gavin and Stacey was brilliant.

The thing in the op seems like they were trying to make a joke of people trying to make viral videos but it just wasn't that funny.

Can be annoying but meh, doesn't bother me too much. I think all four regulars are hilarious, on that show anyway.

I was just going to say I think he's completely innocuous. He's not the most interesting person in the world but I don't think he's particularly awful or anything. I don't know why people hate him.

There's much better people to be hating, like the guy with the wig who does that daytime show where people are baited into belting each other. Or the guy with the bleached hair and constipated-looking orange face who makes the silly tweets. Or the guy who looks like he's malnourished who does the Late Late show.

Ok, I guess it's a bit like Piers Morgan, I wouldn't know the first thing about him either (except everyone hates him).

Any laugh is tolerable compared to Jimmy Carrs.

where do you live then, Mars?

If it was a PR stunt for the Grammys it didn't work. Viewership was done 20% on last year, the lowest in its history. Too much politics and virtue signalling seems to be the reason.

Its the roaring laughing at unfunny things he says and the fact he trys to slag people and when they reply and nail him, he has a massive strop.

I don’t follow American media, but I do have a television

Have you never Gavin and Stacey, A league of their own or never once had a peek at car pool karaoke?

I mean, I never watch any reality tv, it makes me feel ill, but I still know who Kim Kardashian is.

Nope never, honestly. Only had the Irish channels growing up and since I moved abroad I never come across any of the British/Yank stuff outside of 'real' (not panel/reality/host) TV series.

You're not even supposed to believe that it's real. It's obviously a joke leading to the punchline "it wasn't me". And I think I've seen your man that says something about not having cash in some American series. He looks really familiar but I can't place him.

Is it just me or is Sting starting to look like Bobby Davro?

And why is it that the most annoying British celebrities seem to make it big in America?

The ****er must know where the bodies are buried. How else to explain him getting gigs like The Grammys.

Same reason Ricky Gervais got to do award shows they love big dumb **** from across the pond.

aah, so you physically live outside the English speaking world, not some existential world where English is not spoken :p

People like Corden and his ilk are weirdly compelling in the sense one can only arrive at the conclusion they've been looked after by some sort of guardian angel or have some sort of gypsy's curse in reverse controlling their lives.

He's the sort of bloke most people look at and think 'shuddup ya bleedin prick'.

he comes off imo as the annoying loud guy at the bar who thinks he's funny but the rest cannot stand him.. and there are a lot of tales of him being a difficult self important prat

I think if you didn't watch Gavin and Stacey you might not get his humour. His character in that show is a bit like that but also very likeable.
