It will be grand, just use pp. Nothing to do with the phone, just the payment method.

Got someone trying to use the card I used to buy the 5t. luckily it was deactivated.

when was this? debit card? I bought a replacement dash charger off OnePlus just a few days ago using my debit card but no dodgy transactions yet. Is it worth cancelling?

This happened on Saturday, got an email and a text off the bank about suspicious activity. Yup Debit. I'd imagine the bank would be pretty quick in sorting it out if something went wrong but yeah I'd go about cancelling the card and getting a new one just to be safe.

May or may not be related but just had an attempt at a PayPal phish where some texts came in showing me a 6-digit clickable code purporting to be a PayPal security code followed by some phone calls (allegedly from Nebraska) which claimed to be a PayPal automated service and asking me to enter my phone access code. I did use PayPal for purchase of OP5 but could be just be a coincidence. Be wide!

PayPal have a base in dundalk.

Good call, I would never believe those emails. Had them *from*Netflix banks etc.

    But they bet in 1 in a 10, 000
Falling for it, costs them feck all and they make money off some poor people.

Makes me angry thinking about it

These were texts to my phone rather than emails. 3 in quick succession made to look like someone was trying to access my account by getting a verification/security code sent to my mobile followed very shortly afterwards by a follow-up call from a (pretend) "PayPal automated system" looking for my phone access PIN to proceed. The code in the SMSs also looked clickable but I'm damned if I'm finding it what happens when you do ;) More sophisticated than I've seen before but I suppose, like any germ, they always need to keep evolving too.

Bit of a weird question but is it true that only the OP provided USB-C cable is capable of providing dash charge?

Think others have got some compatible ones off Alibaba but they take about a month to get here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,834 ✭✭✭Useful.Idiot

is it not the adapter that provides the dash charge?

The charger does all the work alright (so the phone stays cool) but I think delivery of same requires a special cable. Probably some proprietary use of certain pins or some such

Thanks all, just a bit frustrated with the length of the cable provided. Wanted to get one of the 6ft Anker ones.

Oneplus sell longer (1.5m), flat cables. When I'm released from the Christmas austerity I'm planning on getting one.

Used my debit visa to buy case before Xmas from one plus. Couple of dodgy transactions just attempted. Bank texted me and put card on hold

Gas list of transactions... They started by putting a one euro transaction through on a charity site.. Then tried Nike store, Dyson, a living social subscription.. And a parking fine.. One of the few times glad I had very little money in my account..

shocking really, I don't know how people could even think of doing that. I'd feel rotten spending somebody elses earned money.

Got one of these as a replacement. It's great. Has a real premium feel to it.

Has anyone redeemed their referral points and know if you can use more than one together in an order, say a e50 and a e10 one?

Would you guess where they were based?

You will not get any sort of fast charge from a 6 foot cable

I have 60 pts for argument sake, but the vouchers are only 10/20/50/70 so will I have to put through as two orders and use a coupon on each?

Same with myself. Apparently hundreds of oneplus customers affected. I had almost 1k charged to my credit card today. Stuff bought from M&S, computer shops, concert tickets. Card cancelled and all transactions reversed by my bank this evening.

Worst part is I got no alerts I just so happened to be using online banking today and spotted it.
