Ekbard browses the foods on offer and buys and eats and drinks until he is satisfied and fully hydrated. Then Ekbard begins to browse the weapons on offer.

It's off the coast o'Zassan, so again... our paths are heading in the same direction.'

So you'll give me 6000 smackers for the privilege of letting me do what I want? You drive a hard bargain. I begrudgingly accept!

Hey, did you see my buddy 999 in Dwarrowtown? Once you've been inside someone's lungs and digestive tract, you kind of have this bond...

'Aye... dead. All the clerics o'Vergadain be dead. Except mesel'.... I dinnae what that means right now.

The money will be yers in Zassan, if ye agree to accompany me to Dwacatra after ye get yer Simon a mate.

Let us go to find Ekbard.'

Kal steps forward. 'I'll go with you dwarf. Besides the fact it's what I was released from prison to do, it's also the honourable thing to do. I wasn't much happy with the folks in Dwarrowtown seeing as how they imprisoned me and all but a whole city doesn't deserve to die like that. I'll help in any way I can. And I know this area so I can keep you right regarding directions.'

Bandylegs regards Kal with a smile.

'Aye, I'd nearly forgotten our agreement. I appreciate the help, but know I will not be holdin' ye to any bonds. The time fer that has passed. Lead the way.'

'Well Zassan is south east from here. We will indeed pass the fire dwarf stronghold on the way. Our best bet is to follow Ekbard there and stock up, then we can make the trek across the desert from there to zassan.'

    "Hold still, you beast!"
Othegre struggles to load her two eggs on to the camel's back.
"...how would I know? It's not like I just go around arbitrarily naming every creature I meet.... You take that back, or when Professor Shiny Teeth hatchs I'm going to chew you up and feed you to him!"

Ooc : on the off chance my Speak To Animals from the start of the Dino encounter hasn't worn off, I'll ask the camel for suggestions loading the eggs and what his name is!

"I would suggest loading the eggs by adhering them to me with the ropes found in my saddle. As for my name, you couldn't pronounce it.

Arachnid, that wouldn't be a Zassanian accent would it?"

Simon and the camel reminisce about the old days in Zassan.

    Jambiya
    Punching Dagger
    Razor
    Scythe
    Cutlass
    Great Scimatar
    Tiger Claws

Ekbard coughs, "ehh hello, anybody here? I'd like to purchase one of these great scimatars and a bow and a quiver of arrow, please."

You know what I can pronounced? 'Dinner'. So maybe dial the sass down a notch. The dwarf has an appetite on him and I only defend polite animals from him.

Hey, speaking of Dwarves, do you know the way to the fire dwarf stronghold or Zassan? That's where we're supposed to be headed but, you know, our glorious leader would lose his own limbs if they weren't attached. Even that doesn't stop him some times. You get us there, I'll sort you out with some extra camel rations. Say, what do you eat anyway?

    "Oh, charming"

    The camel rolls his eyes.

    A merchant greets him

"The bow will be 105GP, quiver is free. The Great Scimatars are 90GP"

Goodie on the road Day 1:

Goodie manages to track Ekbard for a good while, until he sees a sandstorm kick looming in the distance. The sandstorms of Zassan are known to be strong enough to rip skin from bone. Goodie spots a cave two miles off.

He can either brave the storm, hoping it is weak. Or risk the cave.

Ekbard hands the man 195GP, packs the bow and arrows in his backpack, wields the great scimatar in his off hand , and heads back out of the city.

The Gang heading to the fire dwarves Day 1:
Kal leads the gang along the dunes. Up and down, down and up, over and over. Keep the badlands to the right, that's the old saying that Kal remembers.

Around 4am, the group finds themselves in some sort of canyon. Tall pillars of rock. BandyLegs sits down for a rest.

It is then that Flak feels a chill run up his spine. A current of magic is present, no worse, a being of magic. Lightening begins to course along the pillars behind BandyLegs, followed by an unholy roar.

Kal turns to shout at the group as the creature rounds the pillar behind BandyLegs. A beast of legend.

    "BEHOLDER!!!" he screams.

OOC: We're being attacked by the monster manual! Any hope I'd know a thing or two about beholders?

Any damage or loss of HP that won't have been put right by a good nights sleep?

Can I assume that Flak has his bow back now?

Can I get advantage on Init after sensing the rise of magic in the area?
Also, did we know we would be facing a Beholder beforehand as I would have chosen spells for the day based on that knowledge (or lack thereof).

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

    Goodie's cave:

Goodie enters the cave. The air is intensely warm. Six stones sit in a circle in the center of the cave's entrance. They seem to have been once used as seats.

The skeleton of a man in clerical clothing lies in the corner. This entry chamber seems to have a second level, which a set of crude stairs lead up to.

Search the room for traps and treasure
If nothing is found wait one round and do again

The body of the Cleric has a medallion of unknown value. After twenty minutes of searching Goodie finds nothing.

Leave the medallion near the front door examine the stairs or go up them if they have been examined already

Upstairs is essentially a lookout Balcony over the downstairs. In the center is a black column with the image of a female mage pointing to a set of five stars.

There are two doors in this room. A small wooden one to the NorthWest and a much larger set of bronze double doors to the East. The bronze doors are slightly ajar and the handles have some kind of helix of black energy coiled around them.

OOC: No, you're golden. Saved the party twice. I acted in the interests of the group at risk to Flak.

OOC: You can go first init wise.

No prior knowledge of the Beholder's presence.
