Dr Brown titled it the thread as "Non-Nationals attacking Taxi drivers in West Dublin."

I've no problem with them being called black teenagers, but he has just assumed that they're not Irish because they're black. That's a bit racist.

I would say it's very racist.

That’s in reply to those complaining that the description of the gang included skin colour.

    .

Nobody here has. Not once, afaik. You might show me where, otherwise.

    Yes they have.

You should have read the thread before commenting.

There you go. And the 3 posters who thanked it.

why does the publication need to say that it is a gang of Black Lads? Would they also say that a murder was carried out by a white guy, or a ginger?

If your car was trashed by a gang of fifteen youths, is it somehow different if those youths were black, white, blue or purple?

Right, one guy, I stand corrected.

I wonder what's up (if anything) within some of the African Irish community in Ireland?

It's not the 1st time that gangs of them have come to the attention of the authorities, media and social media in recent years.
Before there's a pile in with "but white kids are worse..." I'm working on rough numbers via the CSO and I'm fully aware of the anti social behaviour of white Irish teens (I was one).
For the amount of African background kids as opposed to Asian (for e.g.) they do appear to have formed more anti social gangs in recent years than their Asian Irish brethren.
I also haven't come across gangs of 1st generation Irish teens with Polish, Romanian, Lithuanian, Latvian, UK, Spanish or Brazilian backgrounds making the headlines in a negative way.

I think it's helpful to publicly identify a demographic of society when there's an appearance of an aberration of behaviour (particularly anti social) within it as it might help highlight a problem that that society could be dealing with better and it asks questions of the national society if there's a problem with how it's handling integration of all diversities.

It'd be a shame to sleepwalk into deeper problems in the near future when there may be early warning signs right now.

    Ah stop would you.

What would be the first thing one of these pc liberals would say to the gards when they ask for a description if they woke up to a black person in their rooms robbing them blind?

    Pathetic.

I've seen posts with a clear, referenced rebuttal below gather thanks into the tens, twenties and up and onward. And when the same subject comes up again, the same claim is made again. You wonder on occassion why we still aren't making offerings to placate the spirits of the hearth fire, sitting in caves.

There’s something sadly inevitable about the emergence of this type of “gang culture” in Ireland.

It’s terrible that people spoke up and listed the potential problems that would arise but they were either demonised or ignored by the do gooders and political class.

I include the far left “working class hero” types (shinners and the loony left) in this along with the right wingers who couldn’t care less about the problems in less affluent areas.

I don't think the issue is with them being reported as being black. That's not racist. The racism kicks in when someone assumes that because they are black that they can't be Irish.

Is your claim of anti social gangs of non-nationals backed up by any kind of crime stats? Even anecdotal evidence from courts? Prison statistics?

It's one thing to pass judgment from afar and a completely other thing to live a situation.
So much of the nonsensical argument on this site comes from people who have no experience of situations but still feel the need take the moral high ground where everybody is inherently good and deserves the benefit of the doubt even though the most rudimentary level of research shows otherwise.

As for the ethnicity of the people involved in this situation, I'm not sure how important it is. Youths from that background are mostly better behaved than their native counterparts (although these youths are most likely Irish citizens, perhaps we need to re examine what constitutes an Irish person) but all youths have the potential to involve themselves is anti social behaviour in the right or perhaps wrong circumstances.

    Glazers Out!

    Anyone here from Tyrellstown ?

There are reports of Taxi drivers getting attacked by Non-Nationals in the area.

Not just taxi drivers, take away delivery drivers have been robbed and assaulted in D15. The guards know who they are as they arrested one of the so called leader of the group. They may be from Ongar rather than from tyrrelstown.

It's well know that here in d15 there is a antisocial black family that have being moved from tyrrelstown to clonee by fingal county council.

Only one solution if they continue to be anti social. It would free up a house for someone that may be a better tenant.

What if he is black and African and you assume he is Irish. Does that then make you the racist?

I have no idea if they're Irish, I haven't concluded what nationality anyone is based on skin colour.... Only person who made conclusions is the op.
