Well you dragged Pakistan and Afghanistan into it, gave out about their attitude to women and gays, and you mentioned "mainly muslim countries" before.

Go right ahead and quote the posts where I gave out about their attitude to women and gays so we can discuss it, although It saddens me if you are Irish to hear that you approve of the attitude to women and gays in these countries as it’s pretty piss poor in fairness.

    Yeah, its my imagination.

If somebody born and bred here doesn't agree with a 12 week abortion limit passed by the dail, does that mean they have to leave?

Where are Christians in 2017 allowed to throw gay people from atop tall buildings Grayson?
I know your trying to make this “well ..ok Islam says gays must die...but so does Christianity “
So where do Christians murder gays now?

Just on that post, you're wrongly equating (secular) western countries which are formerly strongly christian with christian countries, theres plenty of more primitive christian countries like uganada which treat lgbt people just as bad as most islamic countries

All religion is bad. If strongly christian people had their way Ireland would still be like it was two generations ago, and gay people were arrested for being gay then. Ireland is a 'christian' country but doesnt have enough devout christians for laws like that to be enforced any longer, same with all of europe and america and south america too more or less. Christianity is simply incidentally being seen as more progressive religion as most christian majority countries are now secular

On that point though, Im not condoning mass immigration from islamic countries, I agree with you they have huge problems with homophobia and mysoiny and I think allowing millions of them into europe could affect liberal way of life here.
The problem is that most muslims are very devoutly religious..not necessarily because they're of the islamic faith

So it seems that the cops don’t know where he is from and also he is the oldest looking 18 year old I’ve ever seen

He was from Egypt and not Syria. Attempted asylum in UK, didn't get it.. crossed over illegally to ROI and perhaps just went bat**** crazy. At the end of the day, an illegal immigrant killed a legal one. He should have been dealt with the first time when he was caught without papers by Garda.

There is no way that guy is 18. Its a complete farce. Somewhere between 28 and 32. I think he is in his 30's.

The media should be reporting it as he claims to be 18.

As I said, he really wouldn't stand out in a college campus. but regardless its pretty irrelevant as it doesnt matter if he's 18 or 81 under the law

    I hate discrimination.

For personal reasons I am not going to go into here I have had to deal with plenty of discrimination in my life.
Having said all the above that piece of filth entered the country illegally what part of that concept does not compute with you?
He should have been arrested and deported end of story.

Would it be ok if I broke into your home?

There is good and bad everywhere but are you telling me you are happy to let people like that come and go at will?

Lads lets put it this way........Gardai are trying to sell the public for stupid and I would say 90% dont even realise it.

They claim he is Syrian/Egypitian....then infront of court claim they are having problems identifying his nationality.

They claim he is 18......without a passport or other official documents from his country of birth this would be difficult to prove.

They claim it wasnt terrorist related as there is no link.......
    - Papers claiming they removed radical islamic materials from his squat
    - If they dont know who he is...how can they be sure it wasnt terrorist related.

Personally I hope he was just a fcuked up young lad that was maybe high or mentally instable....however....

If it was an isolated terror attack with no offical claims being made would the state formally announce it as one. I doubt it very much...too much to lose with the negative publicity that goes with it. May effect companies decisions to locate in the area, tourism may drop........

Something that a German reminded me of this morning was that last year one of the attackers in London had an Irish ID card, had lived in Ireland and was married. He was unknown to Irish police before the attack. Proves we know sweet fa and that I suspect will continue in this case.

I really don't get your example about the North. You're saying that Catholics and Protestants in the North are incompatible despite the fact that they work, mingle and live alongside eachother overwhelmingly in perfect harmony. Do you know why that is --- because we (I am from the North) ignored those who told us to look only at the differences and learned to find the similarities. We ignored those who told us that Protestants were all religious fundamentalist whack jobs with a superior race vibe, and we ignored those who told us that Catholics are all idiotic troublemakers whose true loyalty is to the Pope and will do whatever their Imperial overlord in Rome commands.

We got over the stereotypes. How different things might have been if we had just done that from the start.

Also I don't really get the point of the video in the context of this argument. I have never defended the Islamic religion -- I think it's a pack of authoritarian oppressive nonsense, much like its cousin Christianity. Unlike you though, I don't assume that every single Muslim behaves in the exact same way as the people in that video. How many YouTube videos are there of 'Muslim people going about their daily lives and not doing any harm to anybody or telling anyone what to do'? None I guess --- it doesn't make great viewing, and it doesn't suit the agenda.

By the way, if an Irish woman is raped and becomes pregnant from that -- I think we can all agree that this is an awful and torturous experience. Tell me then, what does our enlightened and female-respecting law say when the rape victim says they do not wish to be subjected to the torment of being forced to bear the offspring of their rapist? But hey -- the burka is a much greater evil right?

im simply saying i dont like the idea of parallel societies. the idea of a French woman aving to accept middle eastern norms in her own county is appalling

A belief in gender identity involves a level of faith as there is nothing tangible to prove its existence which, as something divorced from the physical body, is similar to the idea of a soul. - Colette Colfer

Someone posted a comment on the journal along the lines of -the govt would deny it was terrorism in an effort to save the Irish tourism industry.

I believe that. They have form for burying “inconvenient” facts over the years.

How does she have to accept them? The law is the law in France -- as it is here (it is even more secular than here in fact). There are plenty of white Frenchmen who abuse, beat and rape women -- it does not mean that France is a country that tolerates the abuse of women, nor does a video showing some Muslims attempt to boss a woman around suggest that multiculturalism expects women to tolerate "middle eastern norms".

As for your point about avoiding parallel societies -- that is the very thing I am passionate about avoiding. The trend has been towards multiculturalism over the past few centuries -- human beings now regularly travel and settle far away from their native lands. That is the reality -- there is no going back to a world where we all live on monocultural islands. We have to make multiculturalism work or we will simply sow the seeds of segregation, hatred and conflict ---- as we have seen repeated over and over again in history. We never seem to learn.

Irrelevant to his punishment. Sure what’s the point in finding out his name or nationality, they’re irrelevant sure he’s going to prison, he’ll get a nickname.

Fixed that for you there Cole! It’s also amazing that feminist and some gays are so supportive of such an anti feminist anti gay Cult of Islam. Also in the far left in Europe anti-semitism is rife! But hey keep up the good work. Now I’m going back to do a productive days work! Bye

Know an Irish girl like that.
She's a "militant feminist" but loves the cult of Islam and supports traveller's rights. Will have a meltdown if you mention any sort of 'racist' joke unless it's about Jews where she'll be laughing away.
