I dunno but did the voice in the last 4 seconds sound like Japanese? Are any of their press present? Or could it be friends/supporters of Mr Sasaki? I could be miles off.

Those on the left will say sure Irish people commit murder as well, yeah we all know that but the fact remains that if we had a strong border like the Hungarians and Poles have this illegal might not have made it into our country and an innocent person wouldn't be dead.

The Government have been quietly letting people in over the last 2 years and haven't given any explanation as to what checks are preformed to ensure that they are genuine.
i keep hearing this bull****, what is a strong border in this case? do we build a wall across the north and restrict entry to a check point on the M1? do we put Irish border police in belfast train station? How do we restrict access to donegal?
This guy should have been deported from the UK, and from what i have read he should have been arrested last week in dundalk.

    https://www.independent.ie/irish-news/courts/man-18-charged-with-murder-of-japanese-national-in-dundalk-36459547.html
The accused made a number of outbursts during the brief court sitting, at different points exclaiming: "I'm not gay", "F*** you" and "I'm no Muslim".

So yeah, I'm awaiting everyone explaining this away as something his solicitor told him to say....

if we had a strong border like the Hungarians and Poles have...

You do know they've taken in more asylum seekers than Ireland has over the past year.

Be more like poland and hungary, take in more asylum seekers. Got it.

I can't understand why the guards came across this guy a few days ago and just told him to head to Dublin and claim asylum, surely they should have detained a person who is in the country illegally and found out how exactly how he got in.

Could it be a resources thing if that is what they normally do (?? I've no insight just guessing). Not enough guards, not enough places to detain someone like this who in most cases would not be a threat to anyone.
The guards wear a lot of hats + booting out illegal immigrants would seem like a minor part of their job. They start detaining people for anything but the shortest of periods prior to actually kicking them out, the assorted migrant rights groups and the lawyers who make money out of this stuff will be on their cases very, very fast I'd say.

Yes, there are worrying things about this (and that case when someone who'd spend time here did a (terrorist) attack in the UK later on). It does not inspire confidence that there is a full handle on who is coming and going from the state, and its all just a little bit slipshod like many things in Ireland.

Fake news! RTÉ are pro migrant that had reports out with the Irish Navy taxi service in the med. I’m sure the people of Dundalk felt terrorised yesterday. The Gardai wouldn’t probably say even if it was as they might have other indivuals under survalance.

We are really sinking to new levels in this thread, which is quite amazing in ways.

If it was a terrorist incident, why does anybody expect it to be reported as such by an uber liberal media and establishment?

This happened very close to were I live. That morning I had my bathroom window open and I heard some men just saying hello to each other as they were going off to work. It’s so distressing. The thought of just trying to mind our own business and then being attacked. I’ve to go do some shopping tomorrow and I’m worked up about leaving the house. They can take our lives but not our souls. RIP To the young man who lost his life.

And there you are completely wrong. We felt no such thing and never considered terrorism a plausible cause. Come in to the real world and stop making unfounded assertions.

Anna, I'm in the area too. It's not the first time something dreadful has happened in town nor in the Avenue Road. Why you should be stressed out by it baffles me. Nobody I met today was concerned about any further attacks.

Yes the Japanese press is here, and were picked up at Dublin Airport last evening. They were at the scene last night documenting everything, even recording close ups of the actual ground where he spent his final moments. I witnessed them, also a local cab company had the contract to ferry them from Dublin Airport.

Jesus the anger of that crowd. Not that I blame them.

Honestly should anyone be suprised. We want none of that kind of **** here and while we are a welcoming lot those kind of people who come to ruin it for everyone else arent welcome.

The only question that has to be asked is he the person that killed that poor japanese guy. If he did lock him up for life or make him "disappear".

Only thing I can see atm is that there's alot of confusion and lack of information on this suspect. We dont even have a motive wether the guy was even a "terrorist" or some reject from the UK who went apeshít and killed that poor guy.

In all honesty they haven't a clue who is hopping over that border, add to that, they've a shortage of cops who can speak Arabaic. I'm actually surprised that this clown did this in the first place. The Keystone Cops will now have to up their performance and resources and personnel may finally get directed where its needed.

Must be just me that’s a scardy pants lol. I can be tough when I want but yeah deep down this sort of stuff makes me nervous. Mind you my ex husband is an addict so I shouldn’t be scared of anything at this point.

You want the Gardai to stop everyone on the border and check them for passports? Or may everyone crossing register?

Even in Ireland, where we still have domestic terrorism you stand a far greater chance of winning the lottery than being hurt in a terrorist incident. It's the same in most countries in the world.

Ferryports and airports across the British Isles would be a good starting point. EU citizens too.

Well what ideally would you like to happen.
Remember the UK is on our island and that’s not going to change.
