Ekbard watches after the man to see where he goes.

The papers are just old orders for bricks, some from Soetrard, others from Thurmunton. A large order dated about 120 years ago from the Monastery of Trasca (18.05 on map) seems to have brought plenty of coin. Shortly after the Foundry closed for "Special Projects Use".

The man runs back to his house, looking around to check the other houses and then shuts his door.

Bandylegs tosses the papers onto the floor, and heads towards the stairs, checking for any sign of traps

Barikhek and BandyLegs ascend the stairs. This floor is empty save for a small office like room and a much larger room at the back with a light coming from it of purple hue.

"Exciting outside the tunnels is it not Great Cleric?"

'Aye, just remember lad to keep yer wits about ye. How's about we check out the small room first? Make sure ye be checking for any traps or danger when ye enter the room lad.'

    They open the door.

Inside is a nice office with expensive furnishings. Reams of old volumes concerning folk traditions in addition to brick making manuals. The year planner on the ash wood desk indicates a date from 200 years ago and records the coming of a Scarata, a southern mage, to the town. Seems like this office was loaned to her and the main room given over to "Boney" for "Special Projects"

A final note in the journal reads only "She was right!!"

    Barikhek smiles, "Odd as biscuits"

Bandylegs shrugs and looks at Barikhek.

    'To t'other room then?'

Bandylegs approaches the door with the purple glow emitting from within

    Barikhek looks a bit nervous.

    "After you Cleric?"

He waits for BandyLegs to open the door.

    "Or you Master Halfling?"

    Bandylegs nods.

    'Aye, lad. After me.'

Bandylegs gently turns the handle on the door

Ekbard motions to the other dwarfs, "you coming in?" then enters the foundry.

An unseen force pulls BandyLegs, Barikhek and Goodie into the room.

Within the room stands a single figure, ten foot tall, clad in a robe with skeletal hands and a scythe. There is a circle etched in chalk at his feet, with another circle traced from a powder inside it.

He speaks in a voice that chills the three. Slow and whispering.

"This month's payment is early. An interesting selection. How were these three procured? A dwarf touched by the Gods, rare indeed. Another who is naive. And the halfling, who seeks not his hearth and home.

    A difficult choice".

"You are my payment dwarf. It matters not how the strands of fate brought you here. I have my due. You would know an aspect of me as Valkauna, though I share the role with another. It is difficult to manifest together like that....." he trails off thinking "...the humans call me Death."

The arrow lands in the powder and the entire room explodes.

Ekbard and dwaves beneath gaze upward to see the roof blast open as the Foundry begins to collapse in on itself.
