    Bandylegs nods.

'Aye, I'd usually agree lad. But where are the people? Somethin's not right.'

Bandylegs peers in through one of the broken windows of the foundry building.
From ground level one can only see the roof through the top floor windows. There does seem to be an odd light within.

Ekbard does a 360, looking around, trying to see if can see anybody but his own party about.

Bandylegs walks back around towards the double doors, checks the area for danger and moves to enter the building tentatively.

The double doors have a heavy padlock sealing them shut.

Othegre tries smelling the air and sensing heartbeats and that kind of thing, the kind of **** she used to do for that week when she was dead. Also she asks Aria to sniff around a bit for peoples

Ekbard stands well clear of the double doors and the lock, "If everyone is clear, give it a shot."

OOC: The sky above makes it look like roughly midday, but it's quite overcast and grey.

Othegre can make out seventeen heartbeats throughout the village. And a further one, much slower.....indeed elven, out in the forest.

Bandylegs runs away from the blast radius for the arrow

Goodie fires the arrow and the lock is blown clear off the double doors.

Bandylegs pokes at the door with the butt of his axe.

None of the heartbearts in the nearby houses pick up pace, save for two. In the closer of the two houses to the east across the river, a heartbeat accelerates slightly.

BandyLegs sees a man exit the house and come toward the party.

It opens into the bottom floor of the Foundry. There is not much on this level. A kiln beyond repair and yellowed order papers. On the other side of the floor is a set of stairs leading to the second floor. Next to the stairs is a set of lockers.

    The man looks concerned.

"I don't know Dwarf...." he looks at BandyLegs properly, staring at the machinery "....or whatever the feck ye are. I moved hear last Sopspeak festival, as me aunt said there was good farming land, as long as I took care o' her. The other families here are fukin' nuts! They don't let me near this place, I'd clear off if I were you!"

    He pauses.

"Me wife is expecting, so if ye get in trouble, we didn't speak right?"

"Odd, very interesting. I'll do a bit of recon Master halfling."

    Barikhek slips into the Foundry.

"Pretty much any other house. Our family is only my aunt in that house..."

He points to the house of the old women who was spying on the party.

"...at the extreme west of the village cousins, I think, of mine. Never talk to them, it's the most bloody passive aggressive house ever. Their daughters nice, though she suffers from some odd ailment. My aunt hates them, she's never confirmed exactly how we are related to them.

Finally there's my uncle who lives in the mausoleum, he used to be an adventurer and went mad after raiding some tomb and seeing his group killed. He's always preparing to kill somebody named Scarata!

Now, think about that and what it means that we're the normal ones."

The bottom floor of the Foundry seems safe.

    Barikhek checks the lockers.

"Nothing here but old boots Goodie. Upstairs then?"

From outside the man speaking to BandyLegs can be heard:

"What the....what are they doin'? Well I tried to warn ye."

    Bandylegs shakes his head.

'Scarata? I'll go and check in on yer uncle.. when I've checked out this place. If ye ever had any interest in finding out what's within laddie, now be the time.'

Bandylegs shrugs and turns around, following Goodie into the foundry. He picks up the yellowing papers and tries to read them.
