Any Good war films to recommend? Watched "we were soldiers" with Mel Gibson about Vietnam war. Enjoyed it but I'm sure there are some better ones.

Hacksaw Ridge. Great film about a soldier who refused to carry a gun or kill anyone during World War 2.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

A second recommendation for this. Absolutely excellent film!

If you haven't seen it The siege of Jadotville is well worth a watch with an Irish interest.

Not a film but Generation War (German mini series) is definitely worth watching.

A seasonable one for the kids but entertaining to watch as an adult with them is The Troll's Holiday. It had me laugh out loud a couple of times.

Watched Scrooged last night for the first time in a couple of years. I'm nearly sure its on sometime today or tomorrow but its bound to be the watered down version. It kinda falls flat in a lot of places but is very funny at times, forgot how good Carol Kane and Murray are together, probably my favourite scenes along with John Forsythe Blake Carrington from Dynasty as his dead boss.

Krampus is good fun, very much in the gremlins mode of Christmas movies though probably darker than gremlins overall.

Just watched The Foreigner. Brilliantly entertaining. Didn't think Brosnan's accent was too bad either.

Like most, just watched "Bright" and thought it was actually alright. Nothing great now but nowhere near as bad as critics and reviews claimed it to be.

Agreed. A decent cop/buddy film. See they are making another one, flesh out that world and it could be open to a few films.

At the end of every sentence the pitch goes higher like when someone is asking a question, a little annoying I thought but overall a decent flick! :)

Just finished stranger things 2. I had watched the first episode when it first released but then left it until yesterday. Absolutely loved it. Episode 8 was class.
I can't wait for the new series of black mirror to air in a day or 2. Netflix is so worth the subscription fee.

Watched Trespass Against Us this morning. It's ok, nothing memorable really bar some dodgy accents.

Just finished watching the foreigner. Daycent film.

For the Black Mirror fans amongst us, new season drops at 8am GMT tomorrow morning. Probably a bit early in the day for all that darkness though LOL.

    Stuff I watched over Xmas.

The 5th Wave- expected this to be awful and it wasn’t as bad as some reviews make it out to be. The ending though!wtf

The Night Before- very enjoyable, good few laughs in it, falls flat is some parts but really liked it

Watched all 8 episodes of Manhunt:Unabomber today and really enjoyed it. There’s a few plot holes in it and a bit too many “eureka!” moments but Bettany,Noth and Wortington are really good in it.

I’d also recommend to watch the Foreigner. Goood film.

Watched the Arkangel episode of Black Mirror. Holy Sh1t! if the rest of the season is even half as good we're in for a ride.

I was just about to ask if anyone had any early recommendations for the new season. Black Mirror definitely isn't the type of show where you sit down and crack out two or three episodes at a time so wanted to start with a good one!

I liked it but I thought Worthington was terribly miscast here.

Just watched Series 4 e:1 of Black Mirror.
If this standard is kept up it will be quite something.

Imagine being able to create your own liveable breathable virtual reality game, where you have created the characters extracted from real life.Your hated boss, the hot girl you see on the Luas some mornings? You are their god. How would you feel?

    But how would they feel?

I would rather stab myself repeatedly in the face than watch Danny Dyer do anything.
