Sorry, but i'm not buying any of this as "pretty standard",especially when it centres on Religious Belief.....

Perhaps,if you were living amongst these "other religions" in far off backward, tribal or recidivist locations, then you could accept some of this stuff as "pretty standard".

No lad, I live in a place where, in my lifetime, priests were able to rape children with impunity and only suffer a change of location as the punishment, where homsexuals could go to prison for acting on their sexuality, where women are forced to give birth to dead babies and where we shut up our pubs twice a year because of the rules of the religion followed by 80% of the population. The muslim religion is simply a decade or so behind us. And that's just Ireland. You should see the kind of christianity they practice in the good old USA.

No, I'll treat all religion for what it is, a bunch of stories. I'll instead focus my fear and anger on the people who decide to use it to further their psychopathic tendencies.

If you celebrate Christmas or not, it still is Christmas.... Just like it was Hanukkah a while ago, and it will be Quanza soon, and Ramadan is 14 May until 15 June.... whether you like it or not.

I was out drinking last night with two Muslims. Not everyone who follows the faith follows it to the letter. They go full Christmas just like everyone else.

Amazingly Captain Obvious can point out the obvious failings in the Catholic church but never the obvious failings within Islam.
Also Captain Obvious only points these failings out in threads that criticise Islam.

Funny it always seems to be a defence of Islam using the whatabout Christianity tactic.Even dropped in the USA religious fanatics.Everyone knows how bad the Catholic church was, nobody needs it pointed out to them in your attempt to defend Islam.
    Good lad,you tried,god bless.

Sometimes he goes to mass on Friday but not religiously(pun intended)

I don't have the desire, nor the ability to demonise anybody.

Any demonising,in this case,is more than catered for by the wilder-eyed adherents themselves.

One might wonder why the Floggers,in these cases, cannot find themselves confident enough in the practice of their religion to full face masks ?

Perhaps they really are demons ?

I've never defended Islam. Not once. I've pointed out that it is no worse than Christianity but I respect neither religion. It's funny that you think that is a defense.

What I have defended is people who are muslim. I don't believe it is correct to judge someone by their religion. I won't judge a muslim for the acts of another for the same reason I don't judge my nan as a child molester because she went to mass regularly.

    Good man Captain.

    I agree 100%

However,I very much doubt that you'll get close enough to the likes of this lad, to have much effect on his tendencies....

With mainstream non-Muslim faiths losing adherents by the jig time,it falls to the likes of Mr Ahmeed to carry the standard for psychopaths everywhere in the practice of their faiths.

Not much difference between the place you lived in,Captain, and the place the likes of Mr Ahmeed would seek to see you remain in forever,is there ?

You say you agree but you go on to try and paint all muslims as becoming more extreme.

Yeah, I'd bet you'd see less abuse in Malmo than in Boards.ie

As I said I am a bit racist so this brought a bit of happiness too me. I'm working hard not to be racist

Well if you're like me, the farm takes up most of my time and in the evening I just like a cup of tea...

So I'm not sure I can devote myself full time to the aul Racism....

At least Muslims belive Jesus to be one of the great prophets. There are many people in Ireland celebrating Christmas, who have no belief in Jesus at all.

I celebrate Halloween and don't believe in ghosts. I celebrate Christmas and don't believe in that ghost either.

Jesus may have been real but I don't believe in the aforementioned sky fairy at all. Still, it's a lovely story and after all, why not celebrate? There's enough misery in the world.

It’s easy not to be racist. I’ve been not racist for more years than I can remember. Never had to work at it at all.

We had some Muslim neighbours recently, from Pakistan. They moved out when the husband took a job outside of Dublin. Really nice people. The food they cooked was amazing. Kids all palled around with our little one.

Surprised we didn’t get beheaded actually, looking back.

Not so easy for someone that has had it planted in them throughout their childhood by parents unfortunately.

Do you still have to live by the rules of Sharia law?

He had already clarified his post and said he'd no issue with non-Christians celebrating Christmas.

I've no belief in religion but I'll celebrate Christmas and do it without making comments about "Sky fairies". It's just a cheap dig. Believe what you like or don't believe.

Anyway Happy Christmas. Save the arguing for "Turn that Mrs Brown garbage off"

Careful now, declaring yourself as not racist usually only means one thing!

    But seriously, I don't think I've ever heard someone who wasn't a racist say "I'm not (a) racist "
