New York Times: exposes a black project group studying UFO's at the Pentagon.

WASHINGTON — In the $600 billion annual Defense Department budgets, the $22 million spent on the Advanced Aerospace Threat Identification Program was almost impossible to find.

Which was how the Pentagon wanted it.

For years, the program investigated reports of unidentified flying objects, according to Defense Department officials, interviews with program participants and records obtained by The New York Times. It was run by a military intelligence official, Luis Elizondo, on the fifth floor of the Pentagon’s C Ring, deep within the building’s maze.

The Defense Department has never before acknowledged the existence of the program, which it says it shut down in 2012. But its backers say that, while the Pentagon ended funding for the effort at that time, the program remains in existence. For the past five years, they say, officials with the program have continued to investigate episodes brought to them by service members, while also carrying out their other Defense Department duties.

The shadowy program — parts of it remain classified — began in 2007, and initially it was largely funded at the request of Harry Reid, the Nevada Democrat who was the Senate majority leader at the time and who has long had an interest in space phenomena. Most of the money went to an aerospace research company run by a billionaire entrepreneur and longtime friend of Mr. Reid’s, Robert Bigelow, who is currently working with NASA to produce expandable craft for humans to use in space.

Can read the fully story herehttps://www.nytimes.com/2017/12/16/us/politics/pentagon-program-ufo-harry-reid.html

Most of the major news networks in the United States are now covering the story. Department of Defense has also released two videos of UFO's tracked by sophisticated US military systems. Department of Defense told the New York times they had ended the program in 2012, but New York investigative sources have told them this not true and the program still continues on, but it is know longer funded by official government funds. It also reported by NYT this group has collected materials, compounds, and metals, currently being looked at by scientists, and they are having trouble identifying the source of the materials. There is still lot of stuff classified but this could open up the floodgates to even more meaningful evidence coming out in the future and would finally hopefully shut the skeptics up forever.

This is one of the videos released by the US Department of Defense

Just one of the videos from yesterday MSNBC.

There be more today i believe CNN will have a report later tonight.

Shouldn’t be surprised they investigate these.

    UFO’s need investing.
While the majority will be junk or nothing at all, I’m sure there is a real possibility that there are stealth observations being conducted over the USA all the time, they’d be idiots not to think that and search for them.

I wouldn't be too quick to dismiss people who want to discuss these topics in a sensible manner. In the past few years a number of far fetched 'conspiracy theories' have proven to be very accurate.

Although these revelations are by no means a confirmation of ET life or anything significant, it just means that people in power are concerned enough to keep the options open through monitoring. So make what you want of that.

My own personal opinion is that you would have to be arrogant to the point of delusional to think there is no other intelligent life form in the universe. And it wouldn't surprise me if they have tried to send signals at some point in history.

But as with as arguments, extraordinary claims requires extraordinary evidence. This doesn't even register on the scale.

We all know what will happen when the Aliens finally come out of the shadows.

Claiming the dole stealing our jobs and jumping the social housing queue.

And we all know the excuses that will be made we can't tar them all with the one brush just because one of them abducted you and probed your bottom that does not mean they are all the same.

I just know WE are the ones that are going to have to adapt low gravity zones in Tesco and extra bright lights.
And don't start me on the special treatment they will have spacecraft ports on the roofs of public buildings and you just know these spots will be Aliens only.

Yes yes we will be able to visit their planets but you just know the gravity will be too low and the food will suck.
Well I for one will be having non of it any Alien found with an exam table and bum bum probe I say ban them off planet.

I reckon it’s a ‘soft’ disclosure by the US government. There are so many people and governments coming forward in recent years the facts can no longer be denied. There will also be a new documentary movie coming out in early 2018 called ‘Ariel Phenomenon’ about the UFO incident at the school in Zimbabwe in 1994.

I think the problem with this is that this release of information in the 70's / 80's about the US government study of Ufo's has largely been believed to be a way of distracting the masses, so I'm now worried about what is really going on at the moment, they are showing us the left hand to distract us from the right.

I personally don't think there's any intelligent ETs out there, but if I were in power and kept getting weird reports of objects behaving in manner that outperformed known aircraft then of course it makes sense to investigate and keep tabs on the incidents. It's too bad that the subject is riddled with, well, ridicule but it deserves respect.

It makes sense, could be next generation Chinese or Russian stealth craft in operation. I have my doubts that it would be ET doing some anal probing or things like that.

Better not be aliens otherwise we are screwed, a civilisation that advanced to travel that distance intact, we would be mere ants to them.

The amusing thing is that the only thing he believes from the USA is the probing aliens stuff.

If they said millions starved in North Korea and point to the mountain of evidence, he'd heap scorn on it.

The Pentagon knows exactly what those craft are, they built them.

This is misinfo to keep the Chinese/Russian military guessing.

$22 million, the us spends in excess of $1 trillion annually between military expenditure and nuclear weaponry so $22 million is a drop in the ocean and probably paid for guys salary leading the investigation

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 7,893 ✭✭✭Cheerful Spring

Guy who headed the UFO group at the Pentagon was on CNN last night.

Apparently they only investigated military interactions with unknown objects. This was not a broad public study of UFOs sightings. The 22 million dollar budget number is not so surprising and it not like pilots of UFO's are dropping in every minute of the day and landing all over the place. The phenomenon is shadowy and elusive.

I remember someone saying that aliens have definitely never been to this planet and that Area 51 was definitely rubbish...he just pointed to Trump and said, if it was true... do you think this man could keep quiet about it !

Rubbish i never said North Korean people are not starving stop lying. We differ on the explanation for why they are starving. You guys just blame the North Koreans and left it at that. I see it differently but this is not a North Korea thread so stay on topic.

I would not be shocked. This is not the end of this, more revelations are going to come out. and even the most hardened skeptic on UFO's is going to change their minds. About time i say. Excellent UFO case from Zimbabwe. You can find the children accounts to what they saw on Youtube.

With 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 stars (approx) or '10 trillion galaxies' in the Universe, it would be foolish to imagine there is no other intelligent life out there.

According to this particular NYT story, there is recovered unusual metal alloys from unidentified flying objects that scientists "do not recognise”.
This particular object was about 40ft long, had no plumes, wings or rotors, and outpaced their F-18s. It was big enough to churn the sea 50ft below it.

Have seen a couple of silent triangles flying across the East Coast back in '88, non-flashing lights, no noise and very slow moving, haven't seen anything like that since.
From memory the local farmers did complain in the local press about livestock being interfered with.

Probably a test flight or something. Remember the gulf war 1991 and the stealth fighter. That had been in development 20 years before the public even knew about it.
Also the only thing holding fighter planes back is the pilot. Hell a plane could easily do a 90 degree turn except the pilot would be mush against the cockpit.
Same for the formula 1 cars, Schumacher said that the cars could go easily upto 300mph and take bends way faster but no driver could cope with the g’s.

I’d love to see what planes the Air Force etc are cooking up at the moment. You can bet your ass there’s a space fighter in there.

The group found metal/compounds this may be a smoking gun, but only if shown to the public and explained to them why this not of earthly origin!
