    I got four kills last night, but two were just putting people out of their misery, they'd obviously been kicked from the server. One guy had been kicked in the middle of a huge open space. Thought that it was a scarecrow at first, was just running past before I realised it was an actual player.

    The other kills were better, a quick panicky snap shot into someones face, and the other was a comical close range miss-fest. I unload three different guns at this guy, missed with every shot, while he did exactly the same. I don't think there was a surface in that room that didn't get shot. In the end, I realised that he'd lost me, so had time to aim, reload my shotgun, and blast him.

    A very good, clunky game. Looking forward to performance improvements, hopefully.

    I'd a game last night where I came 2nd, only got three kills. I spent most of the game running to the Zone because I jumped out of the plane early and the circle was on the far side of the map.

    My hands were shaking when it got to the last 5 :pac:

    The optimal sensitivity settings as used by the top us player was revealed and imo they helped me with the shooting. I think the first two are at 8, then all 3, second last 2 and last one 1.

    Ill check those on Monday but pretty sure that was it.

    Finished in the top 10 for first time last night, but unfortunately, it wasn't a sign of me getting better or anything, it was a pure accident.

    Loaded up with equipment, had to run to avoid the blue, stole some dudes car while he was looting, crashed as I was driving away because I was trying to honk the horn, reversed, speed away towards the middle of zone, got into a house to loot it, when I was so rudely interrupted by my daughter waking up and crying her eyes out. I came back in and sat down to see that I was top 10, picked up the controller, and instantly had a full clip unloaded into my back. Ah well.

    Got fourth last night just by being sneaky sneaky. Was really annoyed at the end though. Tiny circle and some pleb driving around in a jeep and everyone afraid to shoot him or they'd give away their position. I had to move to avoid being run over and someone spotted me and shot me.

    As a PC player, I'm enjoying reading this thread. Brings me back to when I was discovering this game.

    I play on PC but got it for the Xbox this morning. Chicken Dinner on my first game.:pac: A lot easier to get kills one you can spot someone i found.

    Any group going?

    Haven’t played in a few days but I found General on 8 was spot on at the time and the rest on 10.

    Exact same thing happened to me, there were two jeeps out of the 5 of us left in a small pretty open space with only a couple of trees, two jeeps kept circling and there's nothing I could do, saw another guy so went to take him out, dodged one jeep and the other one just smashed me into the tree, reversed and carried on circling. So frustrating.

    Now going to be free with Xbox one X purchases until 31/12

    Interestingly...
    Xbox fan excitement for the launch has been incredible, with more than 1 million players on Xbox One in its first 48 hours alone.

    That's pretty impressive and a hefty cash injection for them even if you take half of that away for gamesharing!

    Has anyone who got one at launch tried to get on to support for a free code?

    These are apparently the setting used by the #1 player in America. I tried them over the weekend and found weapon control a bit easier with them.

    D2 = 10
    GS = 8
    VDS = 8
    Ts = 3
    SS = 3
    S2 = 3
    S4 - 3
    S8 = 2
    S15 = 1

    That's how I write it down from the youtube video but it's basically the settings from top to bottom on the sliders.

    Anyone have any tips for dopes like me who have become too reliant on auto aim from previous games?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,387 ✭✭✭✭Jayop

    Hide a lot.
    Camp a lot.
    Equip a shotgun (preferably pump action) when clearing a house.

    bar that I've got nothing. I average just under a kill a game so I'm not the man to listen to.

    Single fire never full auto.

    Practice aiming for the head rather than the body.

    Full auto is better at end game.

    Also never ADS unless the person you are shooting is far away.

    It's useful if you're in good cover or in a building shooting out too.

    Really? I find hip fire atrocious with anything but an Uzi or UP9...

    It works. I wouldn’t exactly call it camping in the traditional sense in a game like this, I think the smart thing to do is to try and keep a low profile, don’t engage if you can, let them all kill each other off, then once in the final circle, try stay well hidden if possible and don’t be tempted to engage unnecessarily and watch the numbers drop and then make your move.
    On my second night playing, I won my first Chicken Dinner with this tactic. I had only two kills to win it and the adrenaline rush was incredible!! Luck also plays a big part in this game!

    You can kill 98 people and lose, or kill 1 person and win. How you get your enjoyment is up to you. Personally I like a mix of it all, but there's nothing wrong with buckling down in a good position if you get a favourable circle.
