Getting bombarded by calls from a French number

I got one today from (+0033) 891-06-09-52

Was that the same number?

Yep that's the one! Also using 53/ 54 variants.

I got a call from this with 53 at end.
Answered, but went to Bluetooth headset which I didn't have in, what I heard sounded like automated voice.

Anybody answered and figured out what it is, or says it is at least?

Will probably turn out to be Vodafone or the bank :rolleyes:

And the only reason I remember that is because that's how old I was when I learned it.

Probably same as the +269 calls ive gotten recently...1 ring & they hang up...want u to call back to them (&their premium number).

Answered the second call earlier after the first call from the number hung up on the second ring.

Some Jazz standard (Blue Train I think) played while an automated message informed me that the Manager of the Finance company, or some such nonsense, would be with me shortly.
Call then went to silent, I said Hello, other side hung up.
I blocked the number after that so not sure if they kept ringing.

Don't ring back any of these numbers, it's a premium number scam. I've heard that they even go so far as to have a woman screaming on the phone and then hang up (or leave a message of same) to get you to ring back. Feckers abuse any angle they can to shaft you.

I've posted to the Three forum on a relevant thread about these premium rate numbers, and asked them to be blocked.

I suggest people on different networks do same with their service provider if they are experiencing these problems.

They don't give a **** and will just tell you to report it to comreg, that only comreg can do somthing about it (but they can't be arsed either in any effective way). Providers are obliged by law to pay the premium numbers, so I've been told.

There was a great tip on Reddit where they said you should just answer, ask who they're calling for, and explain they've got the wrong number.

Yesterday’s was Guinea. Rang 4 times then rang off. Never be tempted to ring them back.
