BTW, I think the actor who plays Robbie is wasted in a so-called soap like FC - one of the few genuinely talented actors on the whole show, but that's just my opinion. :)

Just one quick point re tonight's episode: For a dying man, Ronan is really upbeat; must be some great class of anti-depressant he's on....

+1 the actor playing Robbie was excellent tonight

Absolutely, best in the show by a mile.

Does Ronan live in Carrigstown? For a dying man he spends a lot of time walking around the streets!

I think the best male actors are Bob, Robbie & Hughie. Oisín would be my favourite of the younger crew.

Sure Robbie actor was in a few episodes of Peaky Blinders not like he isn't trying to escape the asylum

Can't imagine Carol's actress would get a role there tho cause they all smoke, her stand out feature would be gone

I thought he was supposed to be a millionaire, yet we never see any evidence of this, I know he supposedly donated money to the Phoenix Way, offered Wayne the Jag (or was it a Rolls?) and wanted to invest fifty grand in his buisness, yet we've never seen his house/apartment or any trappings of luxury whatsoever. And for a millionaire, you'd think he'd have more friends (most of the circling vultures, admittedly) than Dolores? :D:p

When was he in Peaky Blinders? I don’t remember seeing him in it.

Yes MsWesterosi and again doesn't look sick enough. Eyes aren't too dark or lined underneath. Plenty of hair post chemo. No weight loss.

I think the second series Fin. A few episodes before the final Derby Day one. He was a gang member. Could have been for the Jewish guy..

Jesus it's hard keeping up with Miriam, she's running a cult on Fair City 4 nights a week and then she's in Ros na Run twice as week as well

Not to mention her right hand man Emmet flips between both as well so I end up thinking there a wellness center in Ros na Run too

In fact Taigh wouldn't be long copping on to her antics :D

I sometimes switch on to see if FC gets better and it never does its the same embarrassing tripe it has always been.

I honestly dunno what to make of Miriam. Sometimes I think she's completely genuine, other times I think *she believes* she's completely genuine. I also wonder if Oakley could be a red herring and maybe Miriam is the bad guy after all? We'll probably find out at Christmas... Christmas 2018. ;)

She strikes me as an excellent counsellor. She listens well, gives good advice and has a lot of empathy for people.

Could she be the good guy and Oakley is in fact the bad guy?

I think some people here are coming under Miriam’s spell and being brainwashed from the Telly, she is definitely up to no good. That 20 grand was not donated.

Now that you've said that fin12 do you think that its true? I get why you had to say it but is it true?

I'm guilty of not being fond of the auld tay myself! I only drink coffee, and at that, it's just two cups in the morning and no more until the next day. My mam used to give me milky tea when I was small, but I hated it so much, I used to add a dose of sugar to it... A very large dose of sugar. Been drinking coffee as opposed to tea since I was fourteen, so I'm as bad as the FC crowd.... Except I make my own and don't run across the road to the local shop or into one of the local eateries for it. Why would I when I have have perfectly good kettle, running water, a bag of coffee and a perculator at home! :D

    Is what true?

I was messing about the brainwashed thing but I don’t think Miriam is genuine.

NO way is Manson genuine people! Have ye all forgotten the time when she pushed Hannah on to Emmet in order to gain membership despite Hannah being very vulnerable, or the time when she threw the elderly tea lady out of Phoenix Way? Or when she got wind of Hannahs complaint she rang up head office to say she was acting like a slut again, starting a chain of events which led to Hannah being kept captive, drugged up and almost dying!

Trust me, Manson is just wearing a very skilful mask and when it slips, God help us all. Its a measure of how good Sorcha Fox is that she draws everyone in, even the viewers!

They must buy the gourmet coffee, like Jimmy does in Pulp Fiction

Miriam, formerly of The Phoenix Way, now of The Miriam Love Group.

She is an excellent counsellor i feel. Regardless of her intentions, the way she handled the 'Incredible Sulk' aka Damien was most expertly done. It was so well done that i do believe some posters are taken in! She has talent. As Strasdaz pointed out a great listener, an air of compassion and altruism.

I missed some shows around the Hannah episode but i would not hold it against Miriam getting rid of the busy body tea leaf lady.

A funny thought entered my head. Miriam O'Reilly of Fair City is a little like another Miriam. Miriam O'Callaghan when she does her 'caring face' interviews with people. The 'genuinely' Miriam. Who also has an ulterior motive. To appear so nice that she will be voted President when the Leprechaun retires!

Miriam listens, that's the secret of her success. So many people have problems and feel they have no one to talk to.

Though Miriam always reminds me of this quote:

'The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.' -Charles Baudelaire (1864)

    :D:D

I do hope though that after Christmas they push on with the sinister side of Manson and the cult because right not we have Oakley vs Manson and that's entertaining for a while but is going to get boring if that's the long game.

It's time. I thought after the chanting healing episode we were moving into more sinister territory bu they've taken a step back.

More twists and unexpected turns to come i'm sure :)
