I must check the flights from Dublin to Zambia for Thursday evenings...

It does seem Ama will be leaving for good, why make her have such a send off if she was only pregnant? And yes Niamh got rightly shafted in comparison.

I hope Manson etc gets darker soon because this whole tit for tat with Oakley is getting boring.

I do not like calling Hughie 'Drunkard'. He has been sober for the vast majority of the time since he came back to Ireland and he was not an alcoholic when he was in Fair City in the 1990s. Carol drinks a lot more as do most of the Fair City characters. I feel calling him Drunkard is putting a stigma on recovering alcoholics. Lest we forget 54% of people aged 18-75 in Ireland are harmful drinkers with a fifth alcoholic. It is not fair to put down a man with that moniker who has turned around his life.

While on the subject of naming characters i do not agree with nagefy namind Dr. Oakley Rasputin. Both are big in stature and one could say possess hypnotic eyes and similar physical features. Oakley is involved in a cult possibly. Rasputin was involved in a splinter cult of Eastern Orthodoxy the 'Khlysty'. They engaged in orgies of sin and felt one had to sin to be truly redeemed, this redemption often involving flagellation. Now Oakley is not quite at Rasputin's bawdy/lustful antics yet and i can't see him being into self flagellation or flagellation by others.. but who knows yet:D Maybe nagefy won't be so wrong.

Because why make a fuss of a character who will ultimately be back, she’s just gone on a career break.

Dolores is a most non-golf character. Where were the script writers going with a golf story? She shouted "Fore" from across the road, cringy stuff.

I thought Ama and Damo Vs Ama and Jake was a great contrast. Damo was warm and thoughtful, it was nice to acknowledge that he saved Ama and her bag. Jake was awkward, the more recent breakup.

Same with Neimh, they don't know if she'll come back (open contract) I think there's some long-term cast members who can walzt in and out but I don't think Ama has that agreement.

I know loathed Ama as a character, but I saw a youtube behind the scenes interview with the actress who played her and she seemed nice and down to earth. I'd say most of the FC actors are sound, bar a few, but in no way am I going to bash people or name names.
And as for all the praising of FC on the social media accounts of FC actors; can you blame them - you can be sure quite a few of them aren't exactly happy with the direction the writers are going, but it's their job, and no one wants to lose their job, so naturally they're all going to big it up; no one wants to bite the hand that feeds them. I know it's a bit of a tangent, and I hope I'm forgiven if it's slightly off topic.

One thing I miss are the Digital Spy FC spoilers, and I can't help but wonder if that site was taken over.... At least the FC characters - their only redeeming feature - aren't publicly ''shipped'' by mega fans (where are the mega fans:D) and the ''shipped'' couples names spilced into one.... God! I hope I'm not giving FC promoters any ideas here, but imagine if we had a ''Hughkie' (Hughie and Jackie) or a Aoifbe (Aoife and Robbie) or even an Oakiam (Oakley and Miriam) a friend of mine just today used a dreaded spliced made up name for an FC couple they have suddenly decided to ''ship'' for some unknown reason, based on the last couple of episodes; as they saw ''chemistry there'' and dubbed them ''Charkley'' i.e. Charlotte and Oakley..... The mind boggles! :rolleyes: (felt like fingernails scraping chalk)

I'm unsure about Natalie. If the writers were any way clever they could do a good story with her turning up.

Maybe I'm wrong, but according to my mam the actor who played Barry went back to his regular - non-acting job. Again, that may not be entirely accurate, just thought I'd mention it.

I actually liked Pierce - he did save them from that nonsense Station siege - and they could have made him into an interesting character. It's a shame the way they turned him into a thief ...
