They are ringing me now off multiple different numbers, any more and I will make a complaint of harassment

That’s what you should do. Make a written complaint .

Frustrated with them too for two different reasons. Daughter was registered with them and we live in rural Ireland so I drove her each month 50 minutes each way for a 10 minute appointment. She never saw the same person twice. The only job they advised her to apply for for Christmas work in Dunne's. During this time the the PAS, council and HSE all had open competitions and EO competition for graduates (which she is), they never advised her of this. She applied and went through these applications herself. At her last meeting they told her that all the time she had been with them she had no need to sign on at local DSP office...which she had been doing. So that's rant number one.
Second rant, I've worked in adult ed and guidance for 20 years. My main job is running classes CV writing/ job seeking/ interview prep. They opened a local office and advertised for staff, I assumed I had the necessary qualifications and experience and applied. I didn't even get an acknowledgment of my application never mind invited for an interview. Not impressed with them and think this scheme needs to be rethought

How was she going to get to the public service job every day had she got one of the positions ?
I think TN would have assumed that if she’s a graduate interested in public service positions that she was registered with publicjob.ie as that’s the only way to apply for those positions?

If she has a job she can buy a car.

You are still on the live register when you participate on Jobpath as you are still in receipt of a Jobseeker's payment.

AFAIK you are no longer on the live register when working with one of the agencies like, Turas Nua, Seetec etc.
You do not sign on while on their books, and yes you are still in receipt of payments.

In which case, the Ombudsman will tell you to grow up, answer your phone, give the information that they require in order to close your file and, in essence, to stop acting like a spoilt brat.

Yeah because Turas and Seetec should be paid a commission for people finding their own job and not finding for them a job like they supposed to do ;)

You are still on the live register whilst engaging with Jobpath. If you still are in receipt of a jobseekers payment, even if exempt from signing, you are on the live register.

I would say have a look into it. You are no longer counted on the live register once you are dealing w/ Turas Nua for example.

I would say I don't need to look into it, I know how the live register is compiled.

No . Your not on the live register when you are on CE scheme but other then that if your getting a Jobseekers payment then your on the register. The live register has gone down steadily since TN Seetec came on the scene.
Once again it’s astonishing the amount of Jobseekers who couldn’t find a job who found one when referred to either of these companies.

I found this job myself. TN hassled me non stop for months. I refuse to give them a commission for me getting myself a job. they are a snake organisation.

If you find that Turas Nua are not following their own procedures or if a member of staff is being abusive to you then you should make a formal complaint to the Manager and then follow the chain of command upwards if your still not satisfied.
The Ombudsman will not hear you unless you have exhausted the complaints procedure and the complaint must be about procedures and rules not being followed or your being treated in an unfit manner.
You can’t complain because you don’t like the rules or you don’t agree with the rules.

the rules don't say anything about me having to provide them details of a job i sourced myself.

    http://www.turasnua.ie/content/view/Service+statement

In this service statement it says if you find work (it doesn’t differentiate between wether you found the job through them or yourself) that the will remain in contact with you for up to a year it seems.

Turas Nua and Seetec, waste of time and I think some of the employees there think they are civil servants lol

I know 2 people that work in Turas Nua and I know 1 person who attends Seetec. The people I know from Turas Nua came from a sales job and an insurance job, I met them awhile back and they are telling me how they are helping the Government, and if they keep pushing people Ireland will be great etc... I made me excuses and left as quick as possible. Then I know a poor sod who attends Seetec, good guy with brains and 3rd level degree who worked most of life and has to attend this nonsense as he's currently out of work. He tells me mostly goons work in this particular office in Dublin, and if the 2 that I know are anything to go by, I believe him 100%.

the only reason this shower of sh!t are trying to engage with me is so they can get a bonus (undeservedly)

I put myself through a masters and a phd, I was forced to join TN after my graduation, i'll be damned if some little 22 year old spotty scrot with a public admin degree gets a bonus when he literally did sweet fa for me. Every meeting I went to he literally told me there was nothing more he could do for me as I was over qualified for the roles he had.

Hi all I am on X and O's and doing agency work. At the moment and for quite a while I have claimed no money as I am getting plenty of work but this will dry up a bit after Christmas. I got a letter inviting me to a Turas Nua meeting next Tuesday I phoned the number and informed him I was rostered for work he than told me I had to go to the next meeting on the 19th of Dec I told him I would be possibly working and he stated I will have to go or sign off. I have a good chance of full time work as I am on a panel . What should I do with these people. Thanks for your help.

If your not available for full time work at the moment then you will have to sign off.
If the work drys up again after the holidays it will be no problem to sign on again.

I am getting on average 3 to 4 days ( I get no money if I work over 2 days from Welfare) a week. But because of the holiday period my days have gone up to 5 to 6 days. I was told by Welfare if I signed off I would treated as a new claim in the new year and have to reapply. I am in my late 50s and married with dependents but I hold great hope in getting a full time position from this panel I am on.
But can I be made to take time off work to attend these meetings as I dont want to cause a problem for the people I am contract to work for as they will just get some one else if I make myself unavailable .

    Hi
You must be unemployed for 4 days in any 7 day period to get JSB.
If you have dependents under 22 in full time education then I’d advise that if you could get at least 19 hours per week garaunteed for at least 3 months then you would be better off signing off the JSA completely and applying for FIS instead.
You will also get the Famoly Dividend payment which means that you get to keep the €29.80 your getting for each dependent child for 1 year and 1/2 it for the second year.
Forget about getting into a to and fro with TN, it’ll just fry your head.

If you have at least one child and are working 19 hours per week garunteed for 3 months minimum then the same applies to you.

Thanks for that info. But I am working for an agency so hours are not guaranteed. I am either rostered or just wait for the call in the morning if needed horrible but thats life.
But I did a year long course last year with the ETB to get work in the field I am I am working in at present.

    Wow that sounds crap.
So basically I have to take unpaid leave to do meetings and courses and possibly lose the work I am doing at present. I just use the X and Os as a fall back in case I don't get hours .
    Thanks for the reply.

I would just tell them you are working that day and ask them to reschedule for another day. As long as you are upfront with social welfare office and signing off for the days you are working I don't imagine Turas Nua can enforce any action themselves. Your Xs and Os is already signed by your casual employer and the social welfare office when they receive it as proof you were not available that day. It shouldn't be possible for them to force you to lose work in order to help you find work.

Turas Nua report back to SW regarding wether or not you were co operative in the effort to find “full time” employment, and SW act on that information.
If you get called into work the day of a meeting with TN I would notify them and get proof from the employer that you were there.
But you will have to attend TN if you want to keep your claim open.
Personally I would prefer to close my claim while your getting nearly full time hours and open it again if it slows down.
