Anyone know if there's any particular reason Wales play four Autumn Internationals each year (from memory anyway) as opposed to the three that the rest have? Is this a new thing?

    To pay off millenium debt

The window is 3 but you can squeeze in an extra one if you control your clubs and can access your internationals outside the window if you want extra money. We did 4 last year (One famous night in Chicago was outside the window). Wales are a little more monetarily motivated than the rest of us sometimes.

They're masochists. They love watching their world ranking drop.

Or they're very cunning and hope to lull their opponents into complacency before the 6 Nations.

I don't have an answer but fair play to whoever did their bookings this year.

The cream of SH rugby in AUS, NZ and SA, rounded off with the rising stars of "European" rugby in Georgia.

    Not bad.

It's not doing them much good. They have less than a 10% win rate against the 3 big SH teams since Gatland took over. We are around 33% in the same period, which when you consider how poor we got at the end of both EOS and Kidneys tenures is saying something about Wales under Gatland....

They have played a lot more games in the SH in that time haven't they?

    Sam Cane.

Best player in the world for me this year. I thought he played like a terminator on the day and this little snippet reinforces it.

    South Africa are terrible.

South Africa absolutley awful, national embarrassment levels. Defense undone by two kicks in behind and very nearly concede a 3rd try less than 10 minutes in.

Rassie desperately checking if he has a break clause in his Springbok contract.

He is ringing Munster to see if JVG has signed his contract yet

    Malcolm Marx has been excellent.

South Africa are diabolical. Gotta see our win in that context.

They have enough quality players to still be a force by 2019 with proper coaching tho.

They've poor, but let's not underestimate our win against them. In 20 minutes against Wales Malcolm Marx has exerted more influence than he did in his entire time on the pitch against us. Ireland completely nullified him. SA the nudge in the set piece against Wales where they didn't get that against us.

There was no pressure on South Africa there.

    That's dreadful.

Handy enough his for Wales, fancy they’ll run up a big score.

Taking the 3 was the wrong option. SA have the power to drive over from a maul and the Welsh defence at lineout time can be dodgy.

Speedy winger! Brilliant kick to space to trust his runner.

Wales defense need to look at themselves for that one. Great speed by the winger to get onto that one in the end.

The speed of the wingers in SA amazes me. Surprising they've not done better in Olympic Sprinting. Tend to be gazelles with limited other skills but rapid in full flight. One guy on the Kings wing stands out in particular

The ref mic is turned up to high. You can hear Garces' muffled breaths.

    Nuther try please before halftime,

Edit: ah well, at least the comeback is still possible

South Africa conceded 9 knock-ons but made 7 turnovers, so you know, ain't all bad :pac:

Northampton don't have to release him as it's outside the international window. Faletau was released by Bath and now they might be fined for PRL for doing so.
