Jesus they dont care at all anymore. I dont even know if this is lacking self awareness or being completely aware and knowing nothing matters anymore.

He even used the word irony. Jesus.

If someone dared him to give that interview as a joke id still hardly believe it.

That's just disgusting. There's no other word for it. Unsurprising, but disgusting nonetheless.

I'm legitimately baffled that it's real. Any sane society would absolutely throttle someone for having such open, obvious and brazen double standards.

There is no other word for it, you're spot on. It's disgusting.

General Flynn has just pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI in a federal court. It's a minor enough charge suggesting that he has given them something in return for letting the additional charges slide against both himself and his son.

Probably won't know what today - but seems Kushner is now in quite serious trouble and will leave his role in the White House fairly imminently to deal with a likely indictment. Supposedly one of Trumps children are about to be indicted.

Might maybe be a bit of a beginning of the end.

I'm still yet to see or hear anything that makes me think Trump himself will be removed at any point.

In fact, recent events make me think he has an outside shot at a second term.

Seth Abramson on twitter, who is pretty good I find, argues that General Flynn wouldn't have been offered a deal if he couldn't incriminate someone above him, and those people are Pence and Trump.

Either way, this'll be on the Leaving Cert in 20 years. I agree with Abramson that the only way Flynn is taking a deal is if he's offering someone above him. And the fact Kushner reportedly took his own counsel and stopped dealing with White House counsel suggests that he might be on the road to taking his own deal... and there's only one person Kushner would be giving up.

An outside shot? He's the incumbent, he's probably evens at the moment.

Scandals have become basically irrelevant now (see Roy Moore). You can't prosecute the president, the republican controlled congress are utterly supine. He isn't going anywhere.

Yeah it's pretty serious. Flynn is supposed to have flipped and has provided evidence on three people - Kushner, Trump Jnr. and Manafort.

Again, some of this is still rumour but supposedly the hammer is coming down and Flynn has been charged this morning so it's definitely gloves off time.

I love the Fox News headline: "Mueller get's his man"..., as if it's Flynn he is after and this is all over now.

Kushner won't give up the pumpkin-in-law. He can plead guilty to whatever he likes safe in the knowledge there's a pardon waiting in return for his silence.

Nah there won't be. Some of the charges are federal but Mueller has kept a New York and Washington DC state attorneys involved and Trump can't pardon state crimes, only Federal. The crimes he is pursuing were primarily committed in those two states so he's covered.

Even if that's so, I can't see Kushner flipping on Ivanka's dad - bye bye family + inheritance!

He's 5/2 which is pretty poor I'd have thought. The incumbent has a significant advantage but they have to get through the term with something approaching an acceptable approval rating which Trump doesn't have.

If the Democrats confirmed a candidate tomorrow they'd be the favourite at this point.

But a strong campaign of undermining opponents, Russian interference and the American electorate's ability to turn a blind eye could see him right back in with a shout.

Kushner was already independently wealthy before marring into the Trump family.

It's a bit complicated as they've made poor decisions but he'll have a pretty substantial trust.

If the Trumps vanished from existence he'd still be completely set for life.

Kushner doesn't need any money at all. His fortune runs into the hundreds of millions.

He's got kids with Ivanka though. Hell, maybe they're really in love too!

The Kushner family fortune may actually be larger than the Trump one.

Trump can only pardon federal crimes.

Good footballer. Awful taste in future careers.

ABC are reporting that Flynn will testify that he made contact with the Russians under guidance from Trump.

ABC are reporting that Flynn will testify that he made contact with the Russians under guidance from Trump.

If he testifies that and doesn't snake out at the last minute then Trump is 100% guilty of obstruction of justice as it was specifically Flynn that he wanted Comey to leave alone and it is specifically Flynn he directed to engage with the Russians.

  • So he testifies to that.

Trump would still need to be impeached. It will not happen.
