Phil names all 3 teams again in response. Team Task?

Maybe, but it just seems to me like a very cut and dry case of a poster who is more knowledgeable with the source material helping out another poster who is less sure.

If I was unsure of the WWE's structure and brands, I can't imagine how else I would word the question that Gertrude asked. Likewise, Phil just gave as clear a response as he could. I don't know how else they could have worded those posts you pointed out.

Totally understandable: In another universe, I was lost with the source material and general terms even though most players knew this stuff inside out and took that knowledge for granted.

    Player 1st Choice 2nd Choice 3rd Choice
    Barbara WW Desmond Liam Doris
    Isla WW Riona Mary Holly
    Phil WW Desmond Vernon Isla
    Angus WW Desmond Mary Riona
    Doris WW Mary Jake Nigel
    Jake WW Nigel Desmond Mary
    Mary WW Vernon Barbara Frank

So Mary and Desmond top the FFA with 4 nominations each.

3rd you have 3 players tied on 2 nominations. Riona, Nigel and Vernon.

Isla, Liam, Doris, Holly, Frank, Jake and Barbara all have one nomination.

Haha Isla, you are jumping on to anything now and clutching at straws. After working last night and being absent from the thread for the first half of today, I'm definitely more available now. However, that doesn't mean that I can shut off from the world and not get the dinner in, walk the dogs, go to the bank, etc. My notes were coming, mad that you are the only one who jumped on them and are trying to use that as a reason for lynching.

If you must know, my notes (which I admitted in my last post were nothing special ) made note of the fact that for good or for bad, you yourself have been a very hot poster in the game so far. You are quick with the accusations with very hollow reasonging - You're either an over-eager villager who is desperate to suss out an early wolf. Or a wolf looking to cause distraction. I'm honestly leaning toward the latter at the moment, but won't be too rash and will be doing lots more research before tonight's lynch.

I also noted the fact that out of all of the posters present before the munch this morning, between 7-11am, it's likely there was a wolf in there. Sure my reasoning is less than solid here: If they are online to post in-thread, they're online to conspire in a backroom. Sure, a wolf could lie low in this early phase of the game and mightn't have chosen to post in-thread pre-munch. However, I believe there was at least one wolf posting this morning, for the following reasons:

    1) Task. This 'check-in' business does seem sketchy. It might not have been that specifically, but surely the wolves had to do something in-thread this morning.

    2) To get conversation going in order to try to suss out a special-role villager for their first munch.

With that in mind, those who were posting in-thread before the munch make up a short list -

Orla - 2 posts, seemed helpful villager-like to me.

Isla - The most vocal this morning. Commenting how quiet it was, posting "Not long now until 'Let The Bodies Hit The Floor'" shortly before the munch, seems a bit gloaty. Surely a true villager wouldn't post such a thing before losing one of their own. Hopped on Mary for hollow reasons. Seems willing to hop on anyone for any reason. Whereas other posters are clearly trying to help the village, but without jumping on posters so quickly.

Doris - Posted once to say that the 'check-in task' accusation does seem plausible, but that she is not part of it.

Steve - Seemed to be doing good by helping to clarify rules which were clear in the OP, but with which other posters were getting confused.

Gabriel - cleared 20 minutes to look at the thread this morning and was disappointed there wasn't more to read. Could be innocent, but why specifically clear time this morning for WW? Why not this afternoon or anytime post-munch? His posts outside of this morning though come across like helpful villager.

Phil - Hard to get a read from the few short posts made this morning, just present and having a bit of craic.

Mary - Made 1 post condemning the bandwagons on block quotes and low post counts.

Jake - First to post this morning, two posts very early, one was a list of the post count for all active posters so far. Didn't post again until 10:57am.

So I reckon there's a wolf in there somewhere. I'll do a bit more research before I decide who. If it's all the same with you Isla, I'll be doing this in my own time-frame ;)

Because I was sleeping and then driving to work. I wanted to clear time to read/catch up in advance of the 11am munch, and see if I could spot anything. Usually overnight brings out the crazy. But I had nothing to read.

I did clear time in the afternoon too, and just now.

    So yes. As we were.

Am I too late for the FFA? Happy to race the top two if that’s the plan.

  • Forum Games Player Posts: 2,853 ✭✭✭Mary WW

Well as much as I want to live, there's a feeling that Desmond wants to be lynched and it could be bad for us if he is. But as a villager, Id like to not be dead. Decisions decisions...

Still loads of time, the so-called deadline for that was because the person compiling was going to be AFK, plenty of time for a few swing votes

Jake, you were first to post in here this morning around 7am with two posts. One was a 'Good morning', and the second was a post-count for all active players so far. You were then gone until about 3 minutes before the munch, where you made a post which implied that you had been trying to figure out if a good character could be turned.

All innocent I'm sure, but any thoughts?

Hey guys. Sorry i haven't been around today. Busy busy. Im probably going to vote Gertrude personally. Early suspicion from a couple of posts but honestly haven't had a chance to catch up proper yet bar the few pages i posted on earlier. Will catch up at some point tonight depending on how the eve goes.

I really have to run but I didn't know that was your FFA I thought it was your personal vote.

In that case Nigel joins Mary and Desmond on 3.

Now I'm outta here for reals

Hey guys, quick note on the lynch form

The link that got sent out to the lynch form broke because apparently I can't ask for "passwords" when I'm setting it up. As such, I had to create a new one.

The new link to the lynch form is

This link is in the OP and the second post of the thread. Please use it, along with the original passwords given out, instead of the link in the PMs.

    Sorry bout the confusion.

    Back to the game :)

    Seriously?!

That is suss AF to be honest. I have offered a perfectly reasonable explanation, several times, as to why I made that first post. Funny that you are not only trying to pursue it regardless, but now lay down a "I supplied the data people, I'm not changing my vote btw" plea-of-sorts to follow you, with almost 2 hours to go until lynch time.

Follow Isla folks, if you want undo our good fortune this morning by lynching one of our own tonight.

Just summarising my thoughts based on going back through posts prior to 11am.

I felt this was a bit premature from Mary, there was barely enough posters to form a bandwagon. Not a task or anything just a bit unneeded when it was posted.

Found this post strange to be honest, again possibly trying to draw in people to chat but the it just seems like a strange post in the context of the thread at the time.

Jake - posted fairly consistently up till the munch this morning but then when quiet, feels wolfy to me at this point but i cant see any context in his posts to suggest a task. So more gut than anything

Desmond/Vernon - Straw clutching here a little but harping back to the check in posts, again seems a fairly mundane task.

11 posters i think mentioned different types of matches, myself included, which could be a task. Isla made a good list this morning with the references.

    Post munch odd posts from

Nigel - Really strange behaviour post munch bugs me along with his mythical post from last night. Might be good but i feel flying a little under the radar with extremely obvious posts. Seer check might be good here!

My FFA based on the above, not much else has happened since i posted this earlier.

    Mary
    Nigel
    Jake

Mary and Jake are premunch reasons and Nigel is post munch which might leave me to pick between the other two. Toss up really, tough and most likely going to follow my gut on it.

    #FFA1

Barbara - having looked back to the start of the thread. Babs was sussing out wrestlers and their possible roles. By this afternoon, she was getting rules in the OP wrong. What’s that about? Active yesterday.

Phil - jumped on board Mary’s idea about the on thread task and explained it even more. But somehow missed the large flaw. Active yesterday.

    Nigel - weirdo :p

Looks like I'm for the chop. It's a mistake, but I haven't done myself any favours getting into a spat with Isla. Should have just kept schtum. In that sense, it's my fault. But in another more accurate sense it's actually your faults. Well I promise I'm going to bleed all over your favourite spandex tights when I go! Got stuff to do, so may miss the lynch. Be gentle :)

Remember, a vote for Mary is a vote against the village!

BTW, I'm voting Barbara for consistent ****-stirring.

Look! A light! Mean Gene is beckoning to me! And Jesse The Body Ventura! Iron Sheik! It looks so beautiful on the other side... I'm coming Mea Gene... Wait for me!

Could be just getting into the theme and sprit of the game, but the random catch-phrases (beyond Day 0) seem like something which could be a task for a munch. Not sure at the moment.

The 'tasks' lead is not the most solid for me though, I can't help but feel that we are getting lead on a wild-goose chase by devoting so much time to them. Sure, let's keep our eyes peeled for them and discuss it and be aware, but we must include other lines of inquiry. According to the OP, tasks only happen on 'certain' days, so therefore not everyday...
    OP wrote:

Team WCW and Team ECW, on certain days, will compete for kills with an on-thread task. These tasks will NOT include any forms of hidden messages, grammar, gif posting or spelling mistakes.

If it's any consolation, I'm not buying the hunt on you. If the reasoning on you is as 'solid' as Isla's is on me, well then I take comfort in knowing that you are a fellow villager and hope that you and I survive the chop tonight.

Something's fúcky folks, and there's quite a bit to be asked and answered post-lynch. Some of those questions I've already asked this evening, but have yet to be answered. For now though, those posters will live to fight another day in my book, and I'll be voting for Nigel tonight.
