Wondering if anyone had a similar issue. But tried to top-up my lottery account yesterday using the revolut card and it was declined with an error saying contact the bank, which is strange considering that I got a notification on my phone saying the card was authorised when I added it as a payment.

I have successfully used the card in an ATM since I got it few weeks back and also used it via paypal for online transaction and none of the security features for online transactions are disabled. Any thoughts ?

Also, for the Visa card, has anyone had success changing their pin? Had a strange error in an ATM where it said they weren't able to change it.

You can't use it for online gambling.

I tried to buy stamps with it one time in the P.O and it was refused. Coded as Credit?

I used the pin for my new Visa card that is on the app and it said "wrong pin entered." I did it twice so now not sure what to do as don't want to do it for a third time. I also wanted to change to one of my own choosing.

Is anybody being charged twice when purchasing from Amazon.co.uk? The charge is showing as pending twice and usually one gets cancelled and refunded to my balance in about 7 to 10 days, however while this happens I cannot make any further purchase unless I top up the account as the money left don't cover my next purchase.
I find it quite irritating and when I contacted Amazon they blamed Revolut for not releasing the authorization, I then contacted Revolut and they blamed Amazon for waiting the confirmation of payment
Is not the first time, and in the meantime I am 100 something £ short in my account and won't be able to use it until it's released: what can I do?

Unfortunately, there's nothing you can realistically do. I've been there and you will just stress yourself out going from Billy to Jack. It will drop off when it drops off, whoever is responsible. With Amazon, I find that less than a week is pretty average.

I appreciate how annoying it is but it happens with other cards too. At least with Revolut you can check easily and know instantly when your funds become available again.

Got my visa card and made a chip and pin purchase so that contactless was theoretically activated. Subsequently tried to use contactless and it failed. Any had this happen?
Is contactless enabled under card security?

Of course it was, I'm not an eejit! 😉

Tried it again this evening and it worked fine. Just takes a wee bit of time I guess.

Still haven't been able to change the PIN, mind.

That's so funny, I think the other person was just being helpful, sometimes the simplest explanations are often overlooked.

You can avoid this by buying Amazon credit to the value of your order before you place your order. Just bear in mind that any refund for items you return would be as Amazon credit rather then back onto your Revolut card.

Having serious trouble with Revolut at moment. I went into App other day and noticed the 10euro I had in it was gone, plus my account in euro said - over 30 euro. Went into support and they said they had a problem paying a customer that I engaged with (Uber) , I was puzzled. The last time I tried to use Uber was back in March/April 2016!!!!

I said this to support and they were like yes, it was a mistake on their part and that payment was reverted or something, they paid Uber and are chasing me for the funds, seems it was a glitch in Revoluts payment system. I said I used Uber alright but the cab I ordered never showed and I requested a refund from Uber. I uploaded picture to revolut to prove this, plus I had to download Uber app and try and remember what email I used and try and get onto Uber Support to back up my claim and then screen shot their reply and upload it to Revolut.

It’s a complete mess. After a week and trying to explain to Revolut I’m still in debt which I shouldn’t be. I said to revolut support if I top up with money will they debt me, oh yes because you owe us! FFS. I said I’m not topping up my card as the debt is not my mistake, after a year and 8 months....

Every time I log onto support you get a different person, oh give me a min to look over your past problem! Jesus.....

Maybe I'm going mad (quite possible) but does anyone know if Revolut have changed the way their security settings work in the latest version of the app?

As in: before, if the various security setting we're on (lit up) it meant the security was turned on e.g. if all were on/lit up then your card basically could not be used for anything. On the new app, under security, in order to activate say certain transactions then the toggle needs to be on (lit up), e.g. to make the card totally active everything needs to be on/lit up.

I'm very confused and felt like a complete idiot when support told me this today :confused:

I was in the same situation recently in U.K. I was under the same impression like you - if the switch is on (blue light on) swipe payments, ATM withdrawals, contactless payments, etc. are blocked - which was the case in the previous version of the app. So I turned off all the switches (light off) thinking that all the security features preventing ATM withdrawal, contactless payments, etc, would be off, but it indeed prevented the ATM withdrawal itself.

Then I read the security options in detail, when I realised the options have changed in the latest version of the app. I changed (turned on the light) for ATM withdrawals, swipe payments, contactless payments, etc. Later, it worked; I could withdraw the cash from ATM.

This caught me out two weeks ago too. Was convinced I had the switch in the correct position to allow ATM withdrawals. Even had it out with Customer Service. Gave up on them convinced i was right and they were wrong. Then just to check if it worked with the switch set the other way, low and behold, my money comes out of the machine.

Another issue that others might be experiencing, especially if ordering from Amazon for Xmas, is that Revolut seem to freeze the card if a few transactions happen to the same retailer over a short period of time.

Amazon often divide the amounts from different items on your order and look for them individually, sometimes in a rapid fire way. Revolut then freezes the card after 2 or 3 of these payments go through. This triggers a 'card declined' email from Amazon and you need to jump through hoops to get it sorted - unfreezing the card and updating the payment account online.

Just a heads up to keep an eye on this in case you think Santa is sorted only to find it's not and your original order is now out of stock or gone up in price in the interim.

Another reason why it might make sense to buy Amazon credit in advance to cover the full value of your order.

A similar thing happened to me. A charge for about GBP90 cleared on my account a few days ago which is a duplicate of a charge that went through my account in July 2016.....that's 16 months later! I've been back and forth so many times on it with Revolut support, still no refund. I have to ask the merchant to provide details of payment and proof they didn't refund me at any point. I never saw the refund in my account but "it could be stuck in the system". Now have to wait to see if Merchant will reply to me. In the meantime I'm GBP90 down. :(

I use for gambling, works on bet365, Ladbrokes no problems. Didn't on betfair, though I only tried once.

The lottery website might only accept Irish cards. I couldn't get it working on bus eireann either.

Yet another victim here of this "reverted" payment from Revolut.
    Support - waste of time.

Notification popped up a few days ago of a payment to a hotel in North America. On checking the app, nothing showed but my £ & € balances were down nearly €400, the £ one being -£120 odd.

So, "support" gave 3 different versions of what happened, only charged once, nothing wrong etc.
I asked for a supervisor - worse than normal support.
I'm very angry they can't be contacted by phone, email or post, just through the app. They have taken €400 from me for "reverted" transactions that supposedly happened 16 months ago!

Anyone any suggestions as to how to go about taking this issue to a regulator/ombudsman etc., as Revolut know what they are doing, clearly & don't care.
If the payment is correct, which I'm 99% sure it is not, that's one thing. But how is anyone to remember what happened 16 months previously? Can I dispute a charge 16 months later? No.

I'm so cross after recommending Revolut to dozens of friends & spending majorly (bigly!) through Revolut.

How does it show up if you downlaod your transaction history for each currency - does the transaction appear either recently or if you go back 16 months?

When the notification popped up, I checked on the app. Nothing recent showed even remotely matching the notification so I contacted support.
It was they who told me they were transactions from 16 months ago.

The transactions in the history look like normal, nothing since the originals 16 months ago. They were hotel check-in deposits/payments.
I'm sure I would have noticed any discrepancies with my balance at the time eg. if the payments hadn't reduced my balances etc. as I was travelling & topping up my Revolut card as & when necessary.
If I needed $200 on my card, I would have topped it up at the time.
If I paid a hotel say $180 but my balance didn't reduce accordingly, I would have noticed.
At first they said the hotel only took payment a few days ago!
Then they say due to their system error, they had only processed the payment a few days ago.

I'm not going to let them away with this & it seems they are doing this to many others now - confidence inspiring in a fintech company, isn't it!

Maybe post on their Facebook page and on Twitter? Not sure how responsive they'd be in your case, but I have received replies about minor issues before. Getting it out there is a start.

I’ve given them loads of proof of first debt and the refund both in revolut app and in my paypal which I screened shot to them, also got evidence from Uber and uploaded it....very poor service.

Got an email from their support saying about the cockup in Revolut system, said mine was from a few months ago so I was livid, got back onto support and they have sorted it now just this evening.

They paid me in sterling and I had to do an exchange into euro so my debt was clear, I got my 10 euro back on top of exchange and made 5cent Woo Hoo...

I asked about terminating card. By god they were quick to answer saying I cant get another revolut account for 5 years and they hold onto my details for 5 years yada yada yada.
