Even the 3rd one? It's rubbish.

I love Part III!!! It may be my favourite.

My housemate's never seen them so hopefully we can do a marathon.

Even the 3rd one? It's rubbish.

And yet still infinitely more enjoyable and entertaining than at least 50% of modern blockbusters. The formula might have worn off a tad by number 3, but it had its moments despite the flaws

    BTTF3 is still great.

Is there any word on when the 4th season of Black Mirror is expected? Third season came out around this time last year, but it's not on Netflix's list for December. Could they just drop it unannounced? Has Netflix done that before?

I'd be very surprised if it did. Wasn't S3 of Black Mirror one of their biggest draws alongside Stranger Things? Plus, I might be wrong, but it brought in Emmys for the company?

Would seem silly to drop a show like that.

There’s a black mirror 4 on the way. One episode was already screened for critics.

Netflix doesn’t have to follow seasons.

Sorry, by "drop" I meant release it. It's definitely coming. It's finished and screeners have been sent out, it's just a matter of when it's added to the catalogue.

I guess it's looking like next year.

Think BTTF 3 is Christopher Loyd's favourite of the three.

Anyway, finished Mindhunter last night and absolutely loved. David Fincher is some man for one man.

Midnight Run is being added the 1st. One of my all time favs at least I hope its that midnight Run.

Edit: Oh God just noticed Kirk Cameron's Saving Christmas is arriving next month. One of the most painfully bad movies ever made but at the same time like a train wreck, hard to look away. Cameron spends a hour and a half lecturing us on how consumeristic we have all gotten and that Saint Nicholas actually beat non-believers and people who did not believe enough making Santa a good religious figure and oh yea includes a 10 minute long break dancing scene it being Christmas and all.

Watch the Cinema Snobs review on the movie, very funny episode.

    :pac:

    BTTF3 is still great.

Its just a different movie to the other two, there was probably no way to get back to the 1950's again.

The second movie is extremely good, its a fairly complex movie too, as complex as any geeky time travelling episode where timelines "cross". A bit of a risk really for a general audience.

Have had a soft spot for BTTF3 since I was a kid. It's obviously the least creative and unique of the films, but it's one of the more enjoyable Western pastiches nonetheless. The final train sequence is the sort of great physical setpiece that's rare in blockbusters these days... Paddington 2 excepted.

^ should you watch the film first, or is it better as a stand alone re-working of it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,585 ✭✭✭Jerichoholic

From the trailer it looks like the most liberal garbage you could possibly imagine.

Yeah it's I think basically a remake, as Lee regrets some of the choices he made in the original.

Hopefully it lives up to the early buzz - despite a few missteps, the original is a strong, lively and defiant piece of work that is definitely one of his strongest efforts.

Giving the fact that I've enjoyed Spike Lee's movies in the past, I'm going to give this a go and not dismiss it as 'liberal garbage' because the protagonist is black and/or a woman.

Also, Irish people using terms like 'liberal garbage' is all kinds of wrong. Go with 'Left wing rubbish' or 'Protestant scutter' instead of co-opting American terms like a proper Fenian!!!

As you use the term 'movies'.

You're presuming quite a lot there, and I wont have it. I've seen the original years ago and enjoyed it, this looks like it was reworked to include a lot of tumblr nonsense, and that's just not interesting to me. To call me a racist or sexist over it is crazy.

Make the Netflix thread great again and recommend something.

That's fair enough. When I read someone dismissing something on boards as 'liberal garbage', it's usually coming from a poster that's usually found extolling the greatness of Trump whenever they get the chance… I'll admit I don't really know your post history on here.

Started watching 'Long Time Running' the documentary about the Canadian band Tragically Hip's last tour following the lead singer Gord Downie's diagnosis with incurable brain cancer. I haven't finished it and I didn't know much about the band beyond the name before this but from what I've seen it's a deftly handled documentary that's free of self pity or histronics when compared with the likes of Gaga's Five Foot Two.

Is there a way of seeing what films and shows are available in 4k?

Might have been asked before, sorry if it has.

you need the top tier subscription and then it appears all grouped together , mostly netlifx originals and ghostbusters 2/ godzilla and a couple of other non netflix made films
