I've had a gay guy grab my boobs, I suppose I'd see it in the same way as a straight woman grabbing my boobs, I'd be a bit taken aback but I wouldn't be overly annoyed, I suppose because there's no sexual element to it. I do think that as a woman I get away with more if I do grope a man, a lot of my posts are smutty but if I were a male poster I think I would have been called up on it, or possibly called up on some of my posts anyway, but by being female I am let off the hook. Having said all of that though, by and large, the people who have groped me the most have been straight men, now I am not saying that all straight men do this, they are in the minority, but to clarify that I don't think that gay lads are the biggest culprits, well they haven't been in my experience anyway.

That's kinda the problem in a nutshell

A gay guy grabbbing his pals boobs messin is not the same thing as being pushed up against a wall by someone you don’t know or barely know and your crotch grabbed. And the guy doing it thinking he can either or both cos he’s a celebrity and he’s ‘only having the banter(if you object) / will take full advantage if you don’t.
One is just a gay guy with his girl mates. The other is al porter.

ok so two total strange men grab your boobs, guys you never knew or had any relationship with, the difference is one is gay and the other is straight!! you wouldn't be offended by the gay guy cos there's no sexual element to it?
but you'd #metoo the f*ck outa the straight guy???.

Nope, I'd be more annoyed about the straight guy and I'd tell him to get off and that would be the end of it. No #metoo or sexual assault claims.

Do you have a link to backup your claim that TV3 were looking to reboot "Jim'll fix it"?

TBH I think you're making it up as I do not believe for one second that any broadcaster would even consider producing anything so closely linked to Jimmy Saville.

    Think you missed the joke

Perhaps the reason is that there are far more straight guys

I was responding to someone that said that gay men are often intrusive in this way.

Think you misunderstand what a joke is.

First and foremost they are supposed to be funny...

It wasn't my joke. But it certainly went over your head.

We're all on a bit of a learning curve here so I'm finding this interesting. You could by law have both done for assault. Let's say two people had a body part grabbed one didn't care and the other pursued through the legal system. Two very different outcomes and that's where we are today.... Throw a celebrity into the mix and you have the twitter career ending route.

You're implying it was identifiable as a joke.

    I disagree.

Something tells me he's going to become a Channel 4 star after all of this.

Yep - when Louis Theroux makes a documentary about him...

Has anyone seen the messages floating around on WhatsApp? He really should've been more careful.

For the record, I don't care if he rode one guy or twenty guys, whether he uses course language in describing those times with his mates, snorts cocaine or is high as a kite before he performs on stage. I don't care and I don't need nor want to know. It is his own business.

The sexual misconduct is all that should be talked about. Anything else is just salaciousness and we really should try rise above that.

Gets getting weird now.... Some people getting a little too involved. It's like people are getting off on it at this stage

Couldn't agree more, people now have such a tendency for tearing apart every detail of someone's life because they make a mistake in one area.

Let he without sin and all that.

The thing is, just because Porter isnt in the media any longer doesnt mean hes not still a sex pest, the guy should seek help as he obviously has a big problem, not only has he destroyed his panto, radio and tv careers but he cant very well do stand up any longer, all his material was filth and now that he has been outed as a sex pest he cant very well do that kind of show any longer now that people know he is a sex pest, in a way i do feel (no pun intended) sorry for the guy but how did he ever think it was acceptable to go around grabbing guys by the goolies? you just cant do that type of thing

Like the sin of touching up mental patients?

I'm pretty comfortable casting stones in this instance

He will be able to do stand up though. Plenty of people have no problem with his behavior and don’t know what all the fuss is about.
Roy Chubby Brown and Bernard Manning et al were very successful for years.
He’ll have no problem turning all of this into part of his act.
I don’t find it funny myself but I’m not going to tell other people what they can laugh at.
What I don’t want is to have it shoved down my throat on mainstream TV and radio and all over the media basically.
Al Porter is not a main stream entertainer and should never have been pitched that way, his agent/manager and the TV/radio bosses need to take some responsibility here too.

I seriously doubt that. Accusations of sexual misconduct are very hard to come back from - lots of theatres and venues won't be willing to book him or work with him.
