If I were Rose McGowan, I'd have taken as much money as possible and then brought him down. Boom! The hell with him!

There's a word for women who perform sexual favours and then take money......

Ah I know. I'm just saying she could've done him out of even more cash, knowing that she was going to turn him in anyway.

Well her own Twiteratti rounded on her, so she had to. Support someone you believe to be innocent V stay on the Correct philosophy? Easy decision to make it seems if one's moral compass is fooked.

The more I read of the guy accused in this case, the more I smell shenanigans. Turns out his accuser's lawyers had sent him demands for money or they'd spill the beans. Blackmail essentially. However yer man it seems is so sure of his innocence and being able to prove it, he told them and her to publish and be damned. Only then did she file a police report. Hmmmmm.... If I were him and had the proof he claims I would destroy her and her team in court and in public and counter sue her into the nearest poorhouse.

Rose McGowan was also in talks with Weinstein and his lawyers looking to get more cash on top of her original settlement, but the story broke before that was finalised and only then did she go full Twitter.

Just in case someone with their offence switch permanently set to ON gets confused, this does NOT mean that Harvey wasn't and isn't a greasy rapist scumbag and he should be thrown in gaol, but it should open up the dialogue around how these type of scumbags can operate and what environments encourage it.

Dunham has form for saying really horrid stuff on social media and then backtracking later. I reckon it's just to get attention but she's still a pretty poor excuse as a human being. Check out the crap her "artist" father paints, it explains so much about her.

McGowan allegedly was offered 1 million but was holding out for 6, to back up Weinstein version of things regarding claims other actors had made against him. Then the bubble burst on him and the deal was off the table.

What makes you think she was ever going to turn him in? She took 100k and then kept quite for how many years the first time but this time it's ment to be different when she gets paid!

    Strongly disagree.

When a woman is raped, she's not performing a sexual favour.

See this is what I have a problem with - because I am a woman I MUST believe everything said by another woman ???

We don't question ? We ignore due process and evidence ??

Utter nonsense I'm afraid. That's not feminism, it's insanity.

    .

Not even Weinstein accused McGowan of performing sexual favours for money but you're happy to. Where's your evidence and due process now?

Morrissey has attracted controversy after defending Kevin Spacey over allegations of sexual abuse.

Morrissey said Rapp's claims "did not sound very credible to me".
"I don't know about you, but I was never in situations like this in my youth," he told Der Spiegel (his comments have been translated into German and back).
"Never. I was always aware of what could happen. When you are in somebody's bedroom, you have to be aware of where that can lead to."

The singer also cast doubt on the dozens of women who have accused film producer Harvey Weinstein of assault.
"People know exactly what's going on," he reportedly said when asked about Weinstein inviting actresses to his hotel room, "and they play along".
"Afterwards, they feel embarrassed or disliked. And then they turn it around and say: 'I was attacked, I was surprised'.
"But if everything went well, and if it had given them a great career, they would not talk about it."
"I hate rape... But in many cases, one looks at the circumstances and thinks that the person who is considered a victim is merely disappointed."

    He is spot on.

    Think about what you're saying.

The person in question is widely known to have abused multitudes of women with impunity over a period of time spanning decades. Many women have come forward with remarkably similar stories of how he'd angle to get them alone, where he'd do everything from stand in front of a door to prevent them from leaving while he masturbated, to savage rape. Scores of victims have told their stories, women who disappeared from public view as he subjected many of his victims to professional ruination after sexually abusing and raping them. Women he hired ex-spies to garner information on in the hope he could prevent them from exposing him. A man who's company contract contained a clause making him responsible for personally compensating the victims he abuse. Numerous reports of ruined careers of women who managed to avoid the worst physical abuse.

You think he's the victim of a grasping woman who is lying about being raped.

And you liken McGowan to a prostitute who performs favours for money.

I think you should feel ashamed of that.

From what I recall, it was Weinstein's team who approached McGowan offering her money to basically say nothing about Weinstein, which is likely given the account of Weinstein's spies getting copies of extracts of McGowan's proposed book and Weinstein in general seeing the walls closing in around him and how stories about him might come out.

Maybe McGowan felt taking more money might be in her best interests not knowing the lid was going to be blown off and that a lot of women were about to come forward with stories about him. I'm not condoning that, but again from what I read, they approached her offering her money and negotiations were on-going when the story about Weinstein came out. She didn't look at an empty purse one day and decide to go chasing him for money.

Yes, they offered her a million and she bargained them up to 6 but ultimately she decided against accepting the money. According to her she made that choice and it wasn't because it all came out anyway.
the initial New York Times story about Weinstein was published, she was “being pushed hard to settle. I was offered one million dollars. No way. I then drove it to 6 million. I was warring with thoughts about being able to take care of my aunt, Mom and family vs my integrity.” Ultimately she opted not to take the money because she “will not be sold. Never again.”

Why wouldn't a 14 year old boy assume he is safe to sleep at a trusted colleague and mates house?

Why wouldn't someone assume that their boss or a top director wanted to talk about well business...

Wow. I know you're trying hard to be the "cool girl" who isn't like those horrible man hating feminists, but really? Being raped is not performing sexual favours. Taking a settlement does not make someone a prostitute. Ffs

Only people big into blaming victims would think that was spot on. If you think a fourteen year old brought it on himself apart from anything else, you need to examine how you see the world.

He also seems to be saying that it's never safe to be alone in a room with a man because "we all know" that it can lead to rape or sexual assault. So according to Morrissey, all men are potential rapists. Now, if a prominent feminist type came out with that I doubt many would say it was "spot on"

maybe he's just projecting his own standards there. He does come across as a creepy guy.

Well, I don't know if he's creepy in his own personal life but those opinions are certainly very concerning. I'm wary of people who go out of their way to shift blame from the abuser.

That kid was fourteen. Kids think they know everything at fourteen, but the reality is they're incredibly naive and inexperienced and don't have the foresight to think most situations through to any possibly dangerous conclusion. Laying any portion of blame on a child for the actions of an adult is inexcusable.

The point is that they aren't victims.

Nothing happened to the 14 year old.

Terry Crew's latest tweet is quite startling. He has revealed that radaronline threatened to run a false story on him after he did his GMA interview.
It should come as no surprise that the editor of Radaronline is Dylan Howard, who happens to be good friends with Harvey Weinstein.

    1wrg.png

In fact, Howard shared information with Weinstein that Radaronline reporters had discovered regarding Rose McGowan's allegations:

Do I believe he raped anyone? You know I'm not so sure. Perhaps, but I certainly don't feel any of the women that have claimed he did have been all that believable tbh. The four I can think of that made that specific allegation all had future dealings with him, two of them admitted to later having sex with him. Just doesn't add up.

I believe it's fairly safe to say though that he abused his position of power all right, with regards to arranging meetings in hotel rooms., had an exhibitionist streak, liked flashing, walking out in bath robes, masturbating in front of unsuspecting women and of course requesting massages off actresses that he knew would feel somewhat obliged.

Perhaps time will tell if he is guilty of all the allegations made. Perhaps not.

Establishment mouthpiece Charlie Rose is done, delighted for the smug pompous príck

    http://www.foxnews.com/entertainment/2017/11/20/cbs-pbs-star-charlie-rose-suspended-after-sexual-misconduct-claim-am-greatly-embarrassed.html

"“CBS This Morning” co-host and longtime PBS star Charlie Rose has been accused by eight women of making unwanted sexual advances toward them and admitted to some of the misconduct in a statement, according to the Washington Post. Both PBS and CBS suspended him.

Rose’s alleged misconduct includes making lewd phone calls, walking around naked and groping the womens breasts, buttocks or genital areas, according to the Post. Rose’s accusers were employees or “aspired to work for Rose at The Charlie Rose show’ on PBS from the late 1990s to as recently as 2011.”

Pete, your happy to acknowledge some of the "lesser" stuff? Is it not a reasonable thought to think that a scumbag like him he would look to push his own sick boundaries on to another level to get his sick kick's.

The amount of the "lesser" accusations against him for me says a big fcuking yes.

It is for sure a "reasonable thought" and that's why I say perhaps he is guilty of sexual assault and / or rape, but having read all the accounts in detail, each one of them had something about it which had me stopping just shy of believing the sex was rape or the sexual act was an assault. Came across more like these women allowed Harvey to do things to them that they weren't necessarily all that happy with but didn't necessarily strenuously object either. Some of them went on to say that they either dated him or had further sexual encounters with him as they felt 'obliged'.

I think he's being so open and honest about it, and it's somewhat of a unique situation in that he's a ripped-to-shreds 250+lb former NFL linebacker which is pretty eye opening, that if anything it will help his career. Which would be a silver lining he deserves, never really found him particularly funny or whatnot but he comes over as a really genuine and likable person.
