    Dublin players, management and county board have been used to favourite treatment from the GAA for a long time so it's unfair to criticise their players and expect them to spend 2 weeks with the plebs from the country in sunny Australia

    It's not a challenge game though, it is an international series. Also, you listed no club commitments for those I named... Therefore, this club commitments line is a load of bs.

    Are you asking how many teams go on a team holiday? Plenty would be the answer.

    Id imagine most people watched it back on the player. It got plenty coverage in the papers also, which would indicate a strong level of interest. You are only trying to knock the thing because it suits the narrative you are trying to push. It was actually a very good series this year.

    Personally I think there should be some reward given for those that go. They are professional for 3 weeks and so should be treated as such.

    Your embarrassing yourself and telling complete lies. You were given the facts about players with club commitments/injuries. I know your a troll and shouldn't be replying to you. You and a couple posters are dedicating your accounts to Dublin, Dublin, Dublin. It can't be good for your health harping on about this. At the end of all GAA players are amateurs and are free to do want they want. They also shouldn't be subjected to all online trolls especially people who post BS to feel good about themselves when their not happy in their own life. Think of players families who read online nonsense.

    Sorry but that is completely wrong. The guys named - Cluxton, Brogan, Flynn and O'Sullivan, were neither on your injured list nor your (frankly highly suspect) club commitments list. These are the guys I have queried. You are now grandstanding because you know there is no explanation for them ducking the call.

    As for thinking of families, ffs get real. The question is why they ducked out of playing for Ireland. That isn't trolling, that is a fully acceptable question on something they should be answering. Look at the backlash Stephen Ireland got for refusing to represent his country. To suggest these lads shouldn't have to answer any questions is a joke.

    Cian O'Sullivan played a league final last Wednesday. Stephen Ireland is a professional footballer and get paid to dedicate himself to sport. Gaelic games is a hobby to GAA players. 3 weeks in OZ is not going to pay the bills. That the last post i'll be engaging with you on this. There more to life than Dublin so give it a rest. You feel better for it :)

    But they don’t have to answer any questions. Not accountable to anybody. No different than if you or I decide not to go to an upcoming match because we have commitments, or just don’t feel like it. Might get dropped for the following match, but I don’t think the Dublin boys will care if the Irish manager next year takes a disciplinary approach to them for not turning up this year. Life will just go on. The lads that were in Australia will go back to their jobs, college life etc. Dublin and the rest of the county teams will get back training in a months time. And there won’t be a word about the International series. There’s no point in flogging a dead horse and trying to drag a story out of nothing.

    Bit like the Colm Cooper dinner. Whilst we, as the Irish general public, sometimes feel that our rival superstars need to be held accountable for certain issues, the simple answer is they don’t. There are certain bodies set up to look at discipline issues – to make sure that the sports are played within certain rules. But other than that, the players just get on with their lives – oblivious to demands that they be dragged before the Spanish Inquisition to explain their non-attendance at a non-obligatory event.
