The ELO arse kissing over the past week has been cringeworthy. Especially from the two muppets in the morning.

I had to laugh when one of the contestants who entered the competition to win the ELO tickets didn't even know the name of the morning show when asked.

Noticed a pattern forming here. On the first of every two weeks, Kieran McGuinness (Delorentos) has been on after Peter Devlin for the past while, and on the second, it's been Colm Hayes with Paddy Courteney. Both are great in their own way, and Paddy's actually texted me back a few times. Tonight it's Kieran.

JC played a great collection of AC/DC stuff this morning. Not the usual selection that gets played (less and less lately on Nova) but great album tracks.

Still one of the better day time shows on nova although as MH said recently, he has been playing a lot of soul of late.

Lately, as in "for the past year"...;)

    Probably even longer.

Yeah - it's been a gradual but noticeable softening of the playlist. And the addition of pop friendly DJs has made it worse.

I’d assume that JC is given free rein to play what he wants. His show couldn’t be the same as it was on 2FM otherwise.

There lies the problem imo...it IS just the same...a very tired format....it shown that nova is no different from all the others

Currently playing the news from 18.00 yesterday.

Another cock up tonight at 9.
We got a countdown instead of the news.
    "60 seconds to broadcast"
    "55 seconds to broadcast"

Silence and then back to the program (I think) as that's when I switched off.

Nothing wrong with that track, being honest. It's not NOVA, though. But still, I like it.

How is it not Nova music? It's 90s Britpop, fits in with the Oasis heavy play list!

Now that you mention it, I guess there is the 80s/90s show. I haven't listened to NOVA much of late, except a short bit in the evenings.

Of course it is. That song is 20 years old. (not that Nova ever said they were only going to play oldies, but anyway)

People need to get over this idea of Nova only being 60s and 70s.

Why listen if it annoys you that much. I tend to stick with my own music whilst in car now with occasional dips into BBC Radio 4.

I don't personally mind because I'd listen to almost anything, but it does seem like Jukebox Hero has become the "Can Conor play pop on Nova?" segment.

I really wish Dee Woods would return to Morning Glory. Give Ruth Scott or Steve McQuarrie her lunchtime slot

    Logistically that will never happen...
