The TP Link HS110 is on sale at Maplin for £26.99. Thinking of pulling the trigger on this, do anyone have them and would they recommend them?

Yes, I have it and it works very well.

My only minor niggle about it is that you can reset the stats. I've been moving it around testing the power usage of different devices. But not being able to reset the stats is a pain.

Still better then the wemo one or any others.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll grab two of them since I'm paying for the PM charge anyways.

I'm going to order another one directly from Google. Do they accept Parcel wizard?

if you are hoping to use the voucher for Maplin, you need to use it a further point in time:

With any purchase in store or online between 15th November 2017 and 30th November 2017 inclusive, to use on your next purchase between 1st December 2017 and 24th December 2017 inclusive.

Anecdotally it appears that they do accept orders using PM addresses and then cancel it on you later.

I preempted them and cancelled, ordering directly from Google who now have same price.

Did you ring to cancel? there is no way to cancel online by the looks of it.

Ah ok - it's Google I was referring to. That's where I've ordered from. Cheers

I'm hoping that it's a manual check on the address (else they should identify it at order placement time) and that they're so many deals going through the website they won't look at them. Don't want to order a second one from e.g. google and have 2 arrive, but will the google price be still valid tomorrow or back up I wonder?

Cancelled my order with Currys, over the phone, UK number.

Ordered with Maplins instead, fingers crossed.

I rang to cancel, and asked if there was a reason it would be cancelled, apparently not, there's nothing on their system to indicat any problem

What may cause a cancellation would be that they didn't have the stock to fulfil the order and wouldn't want to leave it open ended. That may have happend back earlier in the year when it was scarcer perhaps. They've over 2000 in stock at the moment

Scheduled for shipment out today or tomorrow
    fingers xxd

PM directly reference shopping from Argos.co.uk in a lot of their mailing list emails, so I'm sure it's fine.

One email from them around this time last year said

    "Hi Shlippery,

If you’re planning on snapping up some bargains on Black Friday and Cyber Monday from the UK, we can help with your oversized deliveries. With online retailers such as Amazon UK, Argos.co.uk, Debenhams UK and many more dropping their prices this week, you can take advantage of this and get some BIG orders delivered through Parcel Motel from only €7.00. There's doesn't seem to be any functional difference between Google Home and the Mini, right?

I already have a Logitech bluetooth speaker, only after a Home to control Hue, set alarms etc.

Only thing the Home provides compared to the Home Mini is superior sound quality, but you can't connect the Mini to your Bluetooth speaker. You might be better off looking at an Echo Dot instead.

You can connect a Mini to a Chromecast Audio.

Also Google say they are working on enabling Bluetooth out, the mini actually does have Bluetooth, but of course no guarantee on that.

Cool, thanks. Not that interested in it for the music side of things.

Have Hue in bedroom and want to leave phone charging downstairs. I'll be able to tell the lights to turn off and avoid picking up my phone to turn off the lights and spending 45 minutes on Reddit / work / boards/ Amazon etc. etc. etc. etc.....

Finally got cancellation email from Curry’s five hours after ringing to cancel.
At least I know I’ve only one on the way now.

I know it does, but he said he has a Logitech BT speaker, not a Chromecast...

As for Google actually saying they'll enable Bluetooth out, have you seen anything definitive on this? I've not, but as you say, it has the potential for it, although if they were to intend to do it I've no idea why they wouldn't enable it for launch.

His Bluetooth speaker has audio in. So he could use it with a CCA. Or just go full ghome and simplify things.

Btw it was the lead developer who said they were working on Bluetooth out. But again that is no guarantee, I've no doubt it is technically possible. It is management who decide to release a feature or not. Though I suspect competitive pressure from amazon might force them.

Are the price drops on Amazon for the dot for today only or is it running for a while?

Cool, got a link to that? Very interested in it as currently is a major reason why I rate my Echo Dot over my Mini. Just seems like a huge oversight.

I can't find it now, it was on reddit, the ghome sub, the day of the release of the mini the developers were on hand in Google pop-up stores in New York and answering questions.

I think the issue was making sure audio sync works properly over Bluetooth with multiple Ghomes playing music.

My John Lewis order is still in 'processing' state. Has a tracking number that dpd does not recognise yet... wish I had held out and ordered from google direct.
