    Streets of Rage 3D Classic
Streets of Rage on the Mega CD
Alex Kidd on the Streets of Rage

    Final fantasy 7
    Breath of fire 3
    Streets of rage 1
    Revenge of shinobi
    Gunstar heroes
    Sonic 3
    Dragon quest 7
    Street fighter alpha 3
    Metal slug X
    Bust a groove

I think I started off in order of favourite but everything just kinda jumbled together after a while. Making a top 10 is harder than it looks

I can't wait to hear Sparks, I can't even imagine what it would be (coughcoughboulder dash and ace attorneycoughcough)
So to get an idea what games people are into here, what are your top 10 games of all time, new and old. Rise of the robots must not be included!
It's tough to just pick 10, I did them in order played but S3K is probably my favourite game.

    Sonic 3 and Knuckles
    Nights into Dreams
    Jet Set Radio
    Forbidden Siren 2
    Killer 7
    Earthbound
    Chibi Robo
    Ace Attorney Trials and Tribulations
    Persona 3 Portable
    Animal Crossing NL
    Bust a groove
I was listening to Bust a Groove music a few weeks ago, so nostalgic

I can see the sega fans/nintendo fans in these top 10's. A lot of love for streets of rage, never knew it was that popular, thought it was just a doule dragon clone.

Still haven't unboxed my snes mini but looking forward to Zelda and Earthbound when I do.

Thats the unboxing of the snes mini sorted next week.

Heading over to my mates next weekend for beers who I grew up with who had the C64,Amiga,PS1 and PS2 when I had them so he'll enjoy it and since my wife doesn't really care!

Will be better than that time he invited me over on xmas day to play street fighter 2 & Alien Storm on the C64! Ugh

This is the game I recall playing the most on an xmas day on the C64

I've never seen this before, it never graced the Spectrum. The flying devil things look so much better than the main character, he's much more clunky than they are.

Oh well, give me an easy life and a peaceful death.

I got strider and tusker for xmas once, anybody remember tusker? System 3 I think.

    The spelling blackwyche is awesome

I still have both for the Spectrum. Tusker (yep System 3) is a great game, Strider not so much.

I remember it came in a huge box with one tape inside. Is that the version you have? Just like when I got last ninja 2, it took up the shelf!

My version of Tusker is in a small cardboard box, think there was a bigger version as well. It's a similar size to the double tape case that Strider is in.

Tusker was pretty great. Looked great on C64.

Strider only really shone on the Amiga.

A lot of my memories of the old c64 games are combined with memories of stuffing my face with Bewley's Almond buns...

I hear they're trying to bring them back, the bakery just needs to get the recipe right.

In the doge household I have memories of our extended family huddled around the c64 for a game of Trivial Pursuit that Christmas we got it.

I remember my father telling my Aunt to put it in her name and she put her mouth upto the fins of the C64c case and shouted into it! :pac:

Wouldnt be much of a joke these days with how far voice recognition has come along!

I did get sensible soccer for xmas '94, most xmas games you got were rubbish but I got addicted to sensible soccer pretty quick.

Also got Ivan Stewart's super off road which was pretty good.

I remember I went to virgin megastore with xmas cash to buy a certain game, I asked a young lady at the counter if she had skidmarks! The game of course for the amiga. Didn't understand why she burst out laughing at the time.

Wow, Strider on the Amiga really sucks compared to the Megadrive version. I thought the two of them would be on par. Wonder who made the Amiga port?

My computer memories are of being a teenager, perched in front of a 14" b&w tv, fiddling with head levels to get a dodgy c-90 with Atic Atac to work.
Also, this was pretty amazing on the Spectrum as well

the same muppets that made the 16 bit Strider 2.

I think deluxe paint came with most Amiga packs, did anyone ever use it? Think I loaded it up once.

I think you'll find that Human Killing Machine was their low point.

Strider on the Amiga was a passable port for the time. It was my first introduction to the vast Strider expanded universe anyway....

That new recent metroidvania style Strider is well worth playing by the way.

    Oh I loved it.

I would even use Deluxe Paint 4 to do animation. Would try to recreate scenes from Akira badly.

OctaMED was brilliant for doing music.

Andy Warhol himself demo'd it for Amiga back in the day:

Not really gaming related but definitely retro related. I also think some of you in here will get a kick out of this.

Been building this thing on and off since March... and since the recent breakup I've had much more time on my hands at the weekend to put the final touches on it.

She's mostly complete now apart from applying the decales (which I dread doing considering I haven't built a model of any kind for the last 15 years or so...)

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 5,400 Mod ✭✭✭✭Optimus Prime

Looks great! The decals can be a pain alright if they are cr*p ones.. if you had micro-sol and micro-set when putting them on they should be ok. Ive been looking at getting some trek models myself, would love the defiant, ive only got into making them the last couple of years as i signed up to "build the millenium falcon"

Working on a Viper from battlestar at the minute as i wanted to practice first before doing the falcon. Ive a thread on it here with some pics.

That looks deadly though, how big is it?

    It's 1:600 scale afaik.

I'm looking forward to getting a Switch for Christmas from the generous wife.

Going to get Mario Odyssey and Zelda for it, so Christmas is well and truly sorted. This will be my first Christmas playing Mario at Christmas since Mario All Stars in 93.

Recently I've been getting back into my Vita and it's a shame it is pretty much dead in Sony's eyes. Playing Gucamelee at the moment, great game.

Portable gaming that can be put to sleep mode easily is the way to go, especially if you have babies or young kids.

Good job Sir Vestek. Next up is airbrushing & lighting kits....tis a slippery slope! I've a few Trek models I'm thinking of offloading, among them is a 1:350 Ent Refit
