Anyone else go to playersxpo.... mates not too happy they gave away free tickets yesterday after they had paid.

This is the second recent games event ive heard of/been at that wasnt exactly full to say the least.

Think its been flogged to death at this stage.

    Went and absolutely loved it.

They made a lovely gesture to people that got shafted at last years farce. But sure let's stick the boot in

Rightly stick the boot in as three of my mates bought tickets at full admission price beforehand and got shafted this time as others got in for free. How's that a lovely gesture?

We bought tickets to 8 bit and then found others getting them at 25% less on the week leading up to the show and then anyone with a valid student card got in for free on the sunday. How is that fair after paying €20 a ticket weeks before?

And even with all that going on both had poor turnouts. I do reckon it still is to do with the gamerscon last year putting people off after what happened.

If it runs next year and I for one really hope it does. I can see it getting a much bigger turnout ergo less cut price tickets. So you either wait and possibly miss out or buy a ticket and have a great time.

This has the potential to be the de facto gaming exhibition in Ireland. And I wish them well

20% but only if you take ages paying it back.

I've already put €50 back into my credit for it... and as soon as the cheque from the shares that I sold recently comes in I'll probably have it paid off before I ever hit interest charges.

There is codes for 0% interest In the littlewoods. Bargain alert threads. Pretty sure I seen one recently.

I recall going into Easons of O'Connell St, back in '91, and the games dept was downstairs at the time, and I asked at the counter if they had any C64 games in stock, at which a pair of Standard Nerds scoffed and tittered at the request.
I withdrew from the shop, head down, wishing them some sort of necrotic process of the nether regions.

I feel your pain as I used to rent Speccy games from Computer City on Cathal Brugha st back in the day and a spotty older teenager asking what I had rented and belittling me on my computer of choice.
i suppose it was one of the reasons I switched to Amiga

I'm surprised these types of teenagers made it to adulthood, so many deserving a painful death and being denied the touch of the fairer sex as a bonus.

Damn, must retrieve my Mega CD from Kerbdog, have a go at repairing it myself.

My CD-X is fine and dandy, but the Mega CD looks so.... choice, as Ferris would say

Using the PVM to female scart cable off retro gaming cables. Worked out about €30 but the quality really does show.

I have a RGB cable from a few years ago for the MD that served me well. I'll upgrade to the packapunch cables when I can.

Bit late for yourself JB, but if anyone else is looking for one of those cables, there's a guy selling them on ebay for a good bit cheaper.

Have one myself and it works perfectly.

Ohh yeah that's my bad, I was your SS last year.

I vaugley remember chatting to Touch Fizzy about it getting lost in the post... I had kinda forgotten about rectifying that situation.

Don't worry, no matter who I get this year I'll send you both a gift! :)

...and I'll make sure to use registered post this time.

I decided, while half cut last night, that it would be a good idea to wheel my second new LMD monitor across town in a suitcase. (after bringing it out from Bray on a bus)

Half way up O Connell Street, both wheels on the suitcase decide to buckle under the weight.

Queue me having to drag the suitcase the rest of the way home with no wheels.

Not one of my brightest moments. In my defence though, the monitor is now in my apartment and still works :D

Haha. Searching Adverts for SNES is going to produce a lot of results for one thing and one thing only.
