    TA at group Whatsapp chats.

Two people in one continuing from a call they had earlier. No idea what they are on about.

TA when people post things here that are far from trivial

TA  That I'm completely thick and can't figure out  How to embed a YouTube video into a post. Nothing happens when I paste in the url. Can anyone explain/help please :'(

You have to use the long url, the youtu.be won't work. I'll post an example in a sec.

Annoyed at this mygovid.ie, public service card stuff. I don't mind it as such, they probably (hopefully) have good reason to roll this out.

But the way it presents itself right now is utter shambles to me.

So I get a letter to show up at their place to present all sorts of stuff to get my 'public services card'. Despite never having received any PPS services beyond the annual free dental check up. As a god citizen I do all that. Not too bad.
But then you are asked to create and verify a mygovid.ie account.

This website actually doesn't do anything at the moment other than creating and verifying multiple bits and pieces of your personal information while 'verifying your account'. Like when you had to go the office they took your phone number and your address and now they send you a code to your phone which you enter on the website and another code by post which you also enter bladibla. You get the picture.

Only its the most awkward looking website trying to conceal the fact it doesn't actually do anything other than the above. and when you do the above the site just freezes. Or on occasion it says 'whoops something went wrong'.

This is laughable. Its such basic stuff technology and design wise.

I better not look up on what this costs the tax payer and how many 'consultants' were involved at what budget. It really is a sorry sight.

    I'm back. :)

You need to paste your link (i.e. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bJ40-QbZY4 or just the end code after "v=") inside the YouTube tabs, like so:

    [ YOUTUBE ]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bJ40-QbZY4[/ YOUTUBE] or [ YOUTUBE ]1bJ40-QbZY4[/ YOUTUBE ] (without the spaces :))

    You'll get this:

If you use this version [ YOUTUBE ]https://youtu.be/1bJ40-QbZY4[/ YOUTUBE], it won't work. :)

Mind you, you need to have a certain number of posts before you can post a video, picture or link, so that could be it, too.

Incorrectly using 'of' instead of 'have' or 've'.

I needed to know how many credits I have to my name and phoned the Dept to be told no one will answer that phone now to give you that info as it all on mygov .They would not just simply answer the phone, put in my number and tell me .Oh no , I had to log on , get a code , get a text , wait 5 days for a code in the post , log on , get a text and apply for that info . Then five days later I get the message and an email with the info .

My TA is also the public service card .I had a PRSI number for 37 years . Applied for a public service card ( I needed it for free travel ) to be told I cannot get one with the number I had for 37 years as it had a W at the end .So now I have a new number and the old one runs too and each time I have to dig out both and see which one applies to what I need . ...............grrrr

I've been dealing with a bank and a solicitor simultaneously recently. I've ended up doing the leg work myself as they are either incompetent or plain lazy. These people have degrees, I have a mediocre leaving cert, surely they should be streets ahead of me.

Aldi checkouts - seriously how small is that area to pack your bag, how slow is the CC reader, why can't I swipe the card like I can across the road sat Lidl?

TA: people in Aldi or Lidl who try to pack their shopping bags at the checkouts. They have a separate packing area after the checkouts. At the checkout itself, just get your groceries back in the basket, pay, and take them over to the packing area. Then you can take your time packing properly, without delaying everyone else at the checkout. :o

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Well I see that but I only go in for a bags worth of stuff at a time, but even on that small scale the area is very cramped.

I do this all the time :)
TA that people can't wait a few minutes while someone gathers their bits at the till and packs them away. Is life really that hasty for some people? Sometimes when I see the irritated stares of those remaining to be served I give them a little wink, or if I'm feeling really sassy I'll blow them a kiss.

Come off that will you, you do in your arse blow kisses to queues in a supermarket.

I'm in knots even reading that!

You go into your local shop where you'd usually buy this that or the other only to find that the whole section has been removed and replaced with festive paraphernalia - 2 months before the actual date of said occasion.

Getting the ride and the cat climbs on to the bed and starts meowing, he gets ignored so then he starts nudging his face against mine and purring wanting cuddles. Gave up and fed him so we could have a bit of peace.

More than a TA really, but I was reading an article about the ex-fiancé of Molly Martens today (molly martens being the woman convicted alongside her father for the killing of her husband, Jason Corbett)
Anyway, he said that he had known she wasn't taking the pill properly and he knew she was on multiple psychiatric meds which could harm a foetus, and he didn't think they were in the right place to be starting a family, but his take on it is that "she got pregnant on purpose". It didn't seem to occur to him that he could abstain from sex, or could wear a condom if he didn't want to impregnate her. Nope, she did it on purpose. (Obviously, yes, she did purposely stop taking the pill properly, but he knew she was doing that, he confronted her about it lots of times, so it's not like he was blissfully unaware)
He doesn't seem to consider himself as having had any responsibility for the pregnancy at all.

Arrogant people. I got messaged by a Muppet I deleted from Facebook a year ago...yes a year ago...demanding to know why I deleted her. When I told her why she accused me of lying and making up a reason. When I asked her why she thinks I did it she started accusing me of having a tone and then she blocked me :pac: . Wtf...im sitting watching tv minding me own business and this nutjob decides to have a pop. Imagine the arrogance of demanding 'your people ' explain themselves. I'm sure she feels she's got me back by blocking me, but in my head its thank feck she finally got the message. A year later :pac:
