    Hi All,

Maybe this is the wrong forum for this question but here goes.
I am considering building a jetty on some land I own but I cannot find any indication of approximate prices for jetties unless you get someone out to do a survey etc.
Does anyone have any clue as to how much these cost to build and is it possible to buy 2nd hand floating jetties?
    Thanks in advance

Might be worth getting in touch with these. http://www.pontoonsireland.ie/. They often come up second hand on the likes of Done Deal and Adverts. http://www.adverts.ie/boats-accessories/versa-dock-pontoon-floats/5416874

The cost of a couple of floating pontoons is probably the cheapest /easiest part - they can sometimes be picked up second hand from fish farms. For a jetty you need planning permission and a lease from the appropriate body (IWAI or Dept of Marine/whatever it calls itself now). As part of the planning process you might also be asked for an EIS. The environmental lobby are very powerful on these and if you go ahead with the permissions they will land you in hot water.

What's an EIS? And there was already a jetty in the place it's just rotten and needs to be replaced so I was just thinking of replacing it.
Would you still need a lease if you owned the land?

Environmental Impact Statement. The land has little to do with it, you don't own the foreshore. From memory if there is a lease you still need permission to transfer it.
