I'm in America at the moment and would love to pick up a Pixel XL 2 for $849 / ~€720 but it wouldn't arrive in time. Should have been more prepared and saved myself a few quid.
I think if you are in US now, you'd have to give consideration to the Essential Phone after it just dropped its price to $499

Would jump on that if it was available over here.

Is the Essential not a buggy waste of space? Maybe they've fixed some things though.

    Please enlighten me.

How does the warranty work if we get our Pixel XL's and they suffer from the Burn-in problem since we're buying them from the UK store?

Same, its in the EU so the warranty is EU wide. Read through the orignal pixel thread and that seemed to be the case.

Playing with the Pixel in an EE store yesterday. I was aware that if playing something in 16:9 format then there would be sidebars as the screen is 18:9, however I thought it was disappointed ting that when I played the new Star Wars trailer (21:9) that those sidebars are still present along with thick ones at top and bottom. Maybe this has to do with the resolution of the video, but still seemed like thick bezels just in the situation you would value the extra screen real estate.

It's entirely down to the video resolution. They rendered it in 16:9 1920x1080 because of the end screen.

Yes, I guess my point is that when you've got big thick bars at the top and bottom, it would be nice to zoom in a little to fill the screen better.

    mkbhd's review is up: https://youtu.be/KvNis_A6UaI

Comes in longer than normal at 17 minutes, but I always enjoy his videos.

No surprise that he's giving it the thumbs up.

Voice commands on my Pixel with Oreo works on my car (Nissan Pulsar).

Google > Settings > Voice > Hands-free > Allow requests with device locked > For Bluetooth devices.

I'm not 100% sure but I think I also had to check a setting in Google called "Bluetooth headset (Records audio through Bluetooth headset if available)" to make it work.

Had a random look on the Google UK store and the Panda XL 64GB is currently 'in stock' with shipping expected 8-9 weeks.

Would pull the trigger myself but awaiting Google's 'investigation', but thought some ppl on here might have been waiting on a panda to be available.

I've all that done as I had to do it with my previous phones as well, but I can't even get this to hear me if I activate it with the phone if it's bluetooth connected. Still not sure if it's a bug or a device defect. Is yours the 2 or the 1?
    Mines the 1.

Got the pixel 2 at the weekend & is by far the best phone that i've owned (including the iphone7). Its fast and just works. the 'now playing' feature is strangely useful & find myself looking to see what song it is - doesn't know all songs but popular ones.

Downside - usb-c so i have to invest in a few more cables. purchased a Spigen case and its saved me once (dropped it on day 1 - luckily with the case on)

Rapid charge; went from 35 to 70 in 40 minutes; don't know how rapid that is.

Android pay/fingerprint sensor - great, it just works

Portrait mode is great for those who like selfies but not really for me.

Live wallpaper not really doing anything for me but expect some will like.

yeah, should work fine, assuming you have a payment linked to your google account. I have an order pending that way.

The panda version was available this morning.

I bought my Pixel 2 XL from the US store and it's on its way AddressPal. It should be here sometime next week. Does anyone know what kind of import feels I'm likely looking at?
