How are club players tolerating such a schedule. Will need to take some action this winter.

I agree that it's a ridiculous situation but isn't this old news and hasn't action already been taken in the form of next year's restructured AI Championship? Bringing the AI final forward those few weeks should help a lot. Extra time is a no brainer for me.

In a way we're lucky to have this problem but that doesn't make it right. No AI final for Mayo = no real problem for Clubs.

CPA were in negotiations with the CCCCCCCCCC regarding the master fixtures list for next year. Met with them in Croke PArk on Tuesday last week. Wanted the whole month of April for club.

Was speaking to a Mitchels sub after the game and he claimed that the county board are making their second team play an important league match the morning of the county final! Obviously most of their senior subs make up their second team? Surely this isn't true. No wonder clubs have little time for the county board. Im sure these clubs have been training since Feb and now have to play two games on the one day in October.

Re the Castlebar B team, I believe there is a situation where there is 4-5 teams that can be relegated in their division depending on results in the last game, and so the CB require all games to be on at the same time.

Looking at their last few results, Id wager they had a nice few first team players playing for the second team, to give them a fighting chance of staying up in the first place, so that one swings both ways.

All down to them needing the final played this Sunday so that Mayo have a team up against Mohill in the Connachts the following Sunday?

BTubber should win that, but Cbar have a lot of experience.

I thought all replays were off next year or is that only in the championship.

Really should be extra time and the replay only for county finals.

For the draw tonight I'd like Mayo to get a bye straight to a SF v Leitrim or Sligo, it's been a while since we got that.

Then win the final v one of the other two in Castlebar.

The fine tuning can be done in the QF group.

    Mayo v Galway quarter final.

Winners to play London v Sligo

Toughest possible draw if Roscommon come through the other side of the draw.

Front door definitely preferential with the super 8s games.

Yea, they could do without another long qualifier run.

Time to get back to beating Galway, their not that good anyway.

Yeah we'd avoid the Leinster and Ulster champions in the super 8s to boot.No brainer.

Some going for Roscommon to end up on the opposite side of the draw to Mayo, Galway and Sligo.

No chance. Would be expecting a bumper crowd for that. Will be in Salthill.

Can't see either team cheering from the rooftops after that one

The loser will have to play 4 matches to get to the Super 8's where they'll be grouped with two Provincial Winners - and they'll then have to beat Dublin and someone else on top of that to win an All Ireland

This could be the most important Mayo/Galway match in years. Think Rochford and Walsh will have a lot of pondering to do now with regard to the league

The Indo is reporting that Aidan O Shea is likely to be named captain of Ireland for the international rules series.A great honour if confirmed.

That post is a que for the arrival of a certain poster to point out his litany of failures and why he should not be captain.

I agree that the last games should be all played together. As far as i am aware all the last league games in Div 1/2/3 were fixed for the bank holiday weekend and then div 3 was changed to the morning of the county final. Im sure the subs from the first team play for the second team when they can. Was at their game against bonniconlon last month and no first team players were there. Dont think they deserve any special treatment but to play a few hours before their first team play the county final is too much. Loads of games get postponed for lesser reasons. The outcome of that game also affects the top of Div 3.
