It's quite a serious topic, perhaps you could get back to the more relaxed area of posting quotes ad nauseum

    ._.

Dont disagree. Here is the boards thread covering it....oh no wait most of them have been closed as its an ongoing case.

This is a thread discussing second captains podcasts, and their content. I would suggest we can discuss the story in question when it becomes part of a second captains podcast.

If that isnt the case, here are some more stories we can discuss that arent in SC podcasts.

    The storm
    The price of sterling
    The housing crisis
    String theory
    Destiny 2
    Coffee culture in Ireland

My brain just glosses over whenever I read the names of Leinster or Munster in the Podcast description.

30 out of the 40 minutes in football podcast on Mourinho, which was going over well worn points & opinions. No mention of Chelsea losing against the bottom team who had 0 points and hadn't even scored. All a bit dull today, skipped through the rugby in about 3 minutes, just not interested in club rugby. Fair play to them going in to do it though, they could have skived off.

Ah not more mourinho bollocks. You’d swear Mou was the first defensive manager in the history of the game.

At this stage Ken talking about Mourinho is the Second Captains equivalent of phoning it in.

Thought the discussion was fair actually. Basically echoed my point above where there are two types of managers and both can be successful

Its more that it filled almost all the content of the show, don't think it was ott or anything like that as you say.

He at least had reason to talk about him yesterday, but Eoin was right in saying he is took eager to jump on any chance to criticise Mourinho.

I think Mou is the topic that just triggers him. We all have one. Its just unfortunate that his job entails analysing the league that Mou operates in.

My topic that triggers me is when cars park their passenger door side too close to mine but leave a big gap on the other side for themselves to get in and out of their drivers side door.

Very disappointed we didnt get a better roundup of the weekend. Maybe something they will rectify today. Fingers crossed anyway.

The usual Roy Keane audio bed seemed to have acquired a new portentous air of impending doom.

The Marcotti fans in this thread will surely love today's episode :pac:

    Smuggest man alive.

    Rivaled by miguel for smugness

Is it just me or have the abandoned the frankly hilarious audio bed of Ken vs Dunphy, with the backdrop of Murf saying "ya haven't got the shtones"..? Haven't heard every episode now recently so maybe I'm wrong

Nice to hear Eoghan say a rude word.

Marcotti was at his absolute arrogant worst. I wanted to reach into the pod and punch him. I sincerely hope they never talk to him again: an absolute insufferable dose.

Marcotti is an ass but was right, if the players chelsea have out on loan were good enough they would be at chelsea.

The whole loan system and buying so many young players is a separate issue and has its own moral issues

Was there anything after Marcotti? I turned it off.

    What did he say?

Was it followed by "... off, you bleedin spanner?"

Only time I skip a bit of SC is when Marcotti's on.

    Marcotti was right.

I quite like Marcotti and I have to agree with him about the loan system.
I can't stand Miguel Delaney though.

same there are very few contributors that I can't stand the voice of but Delaney is definitely one of them

I think the loan system is a good way of making money from selling on more established players after they've had decent loan spells, but I'd more agree with Ken that you will undoubtedly lose a lot of top future talent (Lukaku, De Bruyne, Sturridge etc...) because they will either be pissed off at the lack of opportunities at their parent club or just a general under-appreciation of the players potential if they aren't around the manager and 1st team regularly.

Delaney sounds incredibly smug. It's as if he's always wanted to be part of the football journalist gang and now he's in there he wants everyone to know.

Although it's part of a journalist's job to look deeper into tactics and the emotions behind a match or incident, I find he tries too hard at this and ends up finding some "narrative" that really doesn't exist but he does it to sound better and more clever than everyone else.

I know everyone seems to be of the same opinion but I can't echo this enough. He is the most unlikeable person I've ever heard on a sports podcast and I listen to my fair share of them

Yep, they discussed the Eni Aluko situation with Jonathan Liew

Just listened to it there, burst out laughing.

Those 3 had nothing to do with the loan system. Chelsea manager didn't fancy them.
