Well I don't want any carrier pigeons to be injured in this weather :p

There's ducks in the Liffey beside my gaf, they don't seem even slightly bothered by the wind.

What is stopping them from getting into school?

Block roads and destroyed schools and stuff that hasn't even happened yet. The grid could be in bits by tomorrow morning,

The hard lad you're replying to doesn't even think there's a storm. Don't waste your time.

    Debris, structural damage .....
Well it's picking up a bit here but think it should be much weaker by tomorrow. Schools should be opened.

Fierce wind here in Sandyford now. Some trees looking in danger.

Where the Ophelia supposed to me now? I’m in Mountmellick Co. Laois with no power and it’s absolutely howling out here.

One fence is swaying in the wind like a drunken sailor. I hope it doesn’t keel over

I know you just being deliberately obtuse but there may be debris on roads, debris in school grounds, structural damage to school, or electricity may be still out.

But carry on. It's getting comical.

Don't mean to be pedantic but this isn't a hurricane. It's a storm.

I've a few ex-girlfriends that I still avoid at all costs.

I'd rather a day off was given for people to check schools were structurally sound before lumping the kids back into classes, but I'm probably a bit mad like that.

You are quite good at this pantomine poster role you are playing today, well done. Getting plenty of replies

Question.............If that was your roof that blew down, your garden destroyed or your relative that got killed by a fallen tree would you still be trying to be the troll "controversial poster" you are trying to be today.

Or maybe you are just a bit stupid!

Looking out the window at the powerful gusts, wrapped up in a blanket with a hot coffee in hand.

Made me feel like a young Edmund Hillary.

Can't see how they can make any calls on schools nationwide at this point. Would have to wait til 9/10 pm to make a decent assessment.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test
