Ya its grand out there at the moment just went in to buy eggs for breakfast. I wasn't shopping for the apocalypse like a lot where ha!
But you are potentially putting yourself in just as much danger as those people with full trollies over a few eggs?

Average wind reported at some lighthouse down the country there now is 80 with peak of 105mph, so it's a little bit windy alright. Gonna get the kite out.

The leaves are taking a battering out there. Stay safe everyone.

All well in Limerick so far. Yes, it's windy, but no more than a normal "windy day" yet.
Only 2 of us at work, the other 8 didn't show up due to dangerous roads. Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but seems a bit of an exaggeration so far saying it's the worst storm in 50 years!

It's 30 years ago since this little mishap

yr.no said there's going to be some strong breezes later, nothing too serious. I don't know what to be believing any more at all at all.

    Those Norwegians are cool customers

Ya it could get worse later but now it's fine. There's been much worse weather over last few months.

I was just laughing at the amount of people in doing full shop and stocking up for what will more then likely just be bad wind in Dublin.

If I were doing my shopping for the next few days, with a day off, I'd get my eggs fair enough in the morning, but I would wait until it's p*ssing rain and blustering wind later on or even after a long day in work during the week to buy the rest.

    Makes sense...........

Just a bit windy where I am in the midlands. Hopefully won't get as bad as people are saying.

The weather app I use is telling me strongest wind today in Kerry is 13m/s.

On the 12th Feb 2014, the app was telling me the wind was going to be 22 m/s. Now that was a storm.

Walked the beach an hour ago and it was eerily calm. Only small waves in the sea.

Was down in Liffey valley shopping centre in Dublin this morning. Centre is closing for the day. Better safe than sorry, I suppose but I have a feeling that people may be overreacting. If the winds do get up to 120 kph -150 kph then people's homes will get damaged.

Yes I agree. Beach walkers should never be allowed on the radio.

Had a powercut already here in South East, it's back on now but don't expect it to last.
We have intervals of really strong winds, then a little rest in between, then it comes back...

Cork airport has recorded gusts of 124km/h!

Lot's of fallen trees down south over the last few hours. The plea to limit unnecessary journeys may have already saved some lives. they'd look a lot more stupid if they didn't issue a warning.

I guess it's easy to think that when you're in town, further up the country. Here in the countryside West Waterford, we're feeling it. And I'm a bit inland, I'd say coastal houses are very much under pressure.

Rightly so.idiots.its fine if something happens them but its the poor Bastards that have to rescue them you'd be worried about.

I'm expecting power cuts in Bunclody today, considering we get them in much milder conditions.

Supposed to be working from home at 12:00, so we'll see how that goes.

Because this country stops if a little rain happens, this is a storm in a teacup

Storm hasn't actually happened yet. It's centred just off the SW coast.

Teresa Mannion is on RTE right now - in a hat!

Describe bad, please. Not meaning to sound smart with that comment. Genuine question. Is it wind and rain, trees bending etc?
