Free file recovery software for Mac

Help needed!! I need to recover a couple of long deleted PowerPoint presentations from my MBP, deleted within the last 12 months. I downloaded a file recover software last night and ran it and it seems to have found the files but I have to sign up for the full version to recover those files. Can anyone suggest a free file…

Help needed!!

I need to recover a couple of long deleted PowerPoint presentations from my MBP, deleted within the last 12 months.

I downloaded a file recover software last night and ran it and it seems to have found the files but I have to sign up for the full version to recover those files.

Can anyone suggest a free file recovery I could use? Or a reasonably cheap version, the above was costing close to £100!? Would be happy to spend less as a once-of recovery!
