Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That course wouldn't suit him best. A par 70 with only 2 par 5s on it. He's a big hitter and gets birdies on a lot of par 5s.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,447 ✭✭✭ronjo

    So still in 19th place.

If he falls out of the top 25 he should still get about 15 starts next season.
He had 25 this and I guess would need to move up to 8th or so to get the same next.

Heres hoping for a strong performance next weekend.

He finished -5 after his second round at the tour finals. Will just make the cut which is currently at -4.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,028 ✭✭✭paulos53

Fortunately a lot of guys between 16th and 30th in the rankings missed the cut so he won't have to do much this weekend to stay in the top 25.

-1 3rd round will see him drop from 19th to 21st in the projected standings. A good final round should get the job done.

    well ?

Final round delayed to Monday. Tees off in 30 min

+2 after 8 holes and down to 25th in the projected standings. Just $285 ahead of 26th spot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,080 ✭✭✭bigtimecharlie

Now projected 26. $1,400 short of 25th place.

Birdie on 11th. Now projected 25th.

Still very very tight at projected 25 now but a lot can change in the next hour and a half. You would like to think that he will just make it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 417 ✭✭martinkop

Great response in his play birdied 3 of last 4 holes, but mostly out of his hands at this stage I'd say. All depends how much others make!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,186 ✭✭✭OEP

If he can get above Joel Dahmen , who didn't make the cut, he should be in. He's $593 behind him currently

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,080 ✭✭✭bigtimecharlie

    $43 behind him now.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 417 ✭✭martinkop

    $1,043 now

And I think he's just blown it. I'm a big fan of Seamus but he just seems to collapse when the pressure is really on. It's unfortunate as I really thought he could have a good year next year on the PGA tour

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 417 ✭✭martinkop

Only hope now is if Harmon drops shots on the last 2

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,776 ✭✭✭abff

Looks like that 6 on the 7th (his 16th hole) may well cost him his card. Very unfortunate if that's how it turns out.

If Chad Collins bogeys or doubles the last Seamus might make it with a par

  • Registered Users Posts: 210 ✭✭highwaymaniac

Currently 26th, Harmon struggling on 18, 8 foot putt for par.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,080 ✭✭✭bigtimecharlie

Jue to no play yesterday, a lot of those high up the leader board and guaranteed their top 25 place have WD. Hope that's not skewing the money for the high finishers at Seamus's expense.

Missed it, looking good now for Seamus.

Can Castro catch him with birdie on the last? Missed a makeable birdie putt on 17.

Not sure of the prize money but if Castro gets eagle he will def pass Seamus. A birdie I'm not sure . Could be very tight

Castro just missed his eagle putt, was tracking all the way! That would have put him 24th, Seamus has 25th in the bag now!!

    less than 300bucks!

He was lucky Harmon missed from 3 feet on 17 and 3 putted 18 too.
I think Seamus will be ranked 50th of the 50 web graduates so he will struggle for starts and will find it difficult to plan a schedule. The good thing is that they rerank the web graduates 5 times throughout the season so the more money he gets the higher he moves on the list the easier it will be to get into tournaments

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,186 ✭✭✭OEP

Does the fact he finished 126 on tour this year help him for some events? or is priority after 125 completely based off the 50 from web.com?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 368 ✭✭markthespark77

A great week for Irish golfers continues as Seamus Power secures PGA Tour card by just $287!

he cut it close, great achievement for him..

The 50 from the web are a category higher than those who finished 125 or worse on previous season so he is better where he is after today . The main problem is events between October and April are limited fields to around 120 to 130 entries due to shorter daylight hours

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,447 ✭✭✭ronjo

Needs a fast start before first rerank.

    Anyone know when that is?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 417 ✭✭martinkop

This was the re-rank from last year, so I'd assume this year will be a similar pattern:

    • The RSM Classic (Nov. 20)
    • Genesis Open (Feb. 19)
    • Shell Houston Open (April 2)
    • Wells Fargo Championship (May 7)
    • FedEx St. Jude Classic (June 11)
    • John Deere Classic (July 16)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,447 ✭✭✭ronjo

So he will play this week, then have 2 weeks off and then play 4 in a row before the winter break.
I guess there is a good chance of a rerank at that stage so fingers crossed he can have a good start which will allow him entry to a lot of these limited fields mickmackmcgoo mentioned.

    eta... cheers Martin

Shot -2 for today's round - tied 12th right now, but early days yet. Nice start though.

Not a good start to this season, missed cut by 2 last night

  • Registered Users Posts: 403 ✭✭Beaulieu

Not surprised that he missed the cut. He said on off the ball that he had played in 8 of the last 9 events between trying to squeeze into the Top125 on main tour and then getting through the Web.com playoffs.

Nice 68 to start for Seamus today. If he gets his weekend scoring average down a bit he'll have a good year hopefully.
