There ain't no profits to reinvest. Their spending is way outgrossing their intake. So yes, currently they're losing money.

104 million subscribers by 10 dollars per month equals about 12.5 billion dollars a year ........... as I said, spending/investing money into content with long term goals is not the same as losing money ......... Netflix has made a choice.

It's okay to admit you're wrong sometimes you know. I know Netflix has made a choice to live with massive debt for now to reap financial gains way down the line but that doesn't mean they're not losing money now.

Anyways I'm sure people have had enough of reading this poop so I won't post any more on it.

I'm glad you feel comfortable admitting you're wrong ......... "losing money" implies that Netflix is a struggling failing business which it obviously isn't, ie. if Netflix was sold tomorrow it would makes it's current owners even wealthier than they are today.

The original question was "How can Netflix afford to pay Jerry Seinfeld 100 million dollars?" to which I replied "Monthly subscription fees from over 100 million users ......." ........... so I'll ask you ........ where the hell is Netflix getting all their money from (since they're making zero profit according to you) and why (since they're losing money) would they spend that kind of money on Seinfeld???

Yeah, binged it over weekend. Fun but felt scripted to the line.

Watched Stag, it's a three episode dark comedy about a few lads that go on stag weekend in the Scottish highlands.

    Well worth a watch.

There was a film on that premise, think it was based in Wicklow. Getting lost in the woods.

There's a totally unrelated awful film called the stag, but as said this is a 3 part dark comedy. Worth a watch

Gaga's documentary is worth a watch.

Also started the Kalief Browder story, 6 part docu about another disgraceful US system of race. Very well made so far anyway.

FYI there are two separate threads over in the Star Trek forum for discussing Star Trek Discovery:

Discovery 1x01 & 1x02 – 2-part premiere [** SPOILERS WITHIN **] – major spoilers in the first few posts, so don't read until you've watched the episodes!

Star Trek: Discovery - Pre-release discussion [** NO SPOILERS **] – the old megathread which will probably be closed soon, but I've asked people to share spoiler-free reactions to the premiere there.

Teach Us All added today, looks worth a watch. Documentary about how the school system in the US is still largely segregated and the work being done to fix it.

Any good westerns on Netflix? I'm not a fan of the older three hour long John Wayne type ones. I'm thinking more along the lines of Slow West or the TV show Hell on Wheels.

Watched You Get Me at the weekend. 7/10 Watchable thriller.

Are you recommending these or just listing Western type things?
I watched an episode of The Pinkertons a few weeks ago and it was like Saturday afternoon family viewing.

Hatfields & McCoys if that's the mini series then it's well worth a watch an all star cast with Costner & Paxton on top form.

Isn't Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid on Netflix? Highly recommend it. Also Open Range is good looks feckin' fantastic.

Is it a mini series or a thing that got cancelled after 1 season? Hate getting invested in things only to have them end abruptly.

The mini series is a proper mini series with a beginning middle and end with no cliffhanger.

I watched an episode of The Pinkertons a few weeks ago and it was like Saturday afternoon family viewing.

I'm a fan of the Old West so I liked them all to varying degrees ........ Ken Burns' documentaries The West and The Civil War are also on Netflix, both are excellent in my opinion.

Hatfields & McCoys is a brilliant (again, in my opinion) one-off mini series based on a true story, ie. the mini series ends with the story complete.

There are older westerns (including, as mentioned, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid) but you seemed to indicate from your post that you prefer more contemporary renditions of the western so I didn't include any of those recommendations.

I'm kind of regretting recommending anything to you to be honest given your ungrateful reply ........ anyway, watch or don't watch, no skin off
    my nose.
