They didn't choose it. She picked a fight. They responded.
Correct. She's not happy at "losing" €2K, which is fair enough. Why on earth would she then expect the hotel to kiss goodbye to their money? The person who suggested the no-shows chip in had a good idea there. 16 absentees, yeah? If each of them offered €60, that's near enough a grand. It's not perfect, but she's minimising her "losses". Using the old "I've got a friend" trick just makes her come across as petty and vindictive.

    Aw man.

Imagine not knowing the excitement of being part of a winning team. Working hard on your passion and seeing the work in your achievements. It's the most amazing feeling.

For those who are saying she did not sound that bad, I disagree.

She was prepared to threaten a business who had been nothing but professional and kind to her in the lead up to her wedding.

She went ahead and contacted the Radio Show and was prepared to go on and try to shame the Hotel.

She did not care about the business, or the people working there once she got her own way. She could have damaged the hotels business and reputation as they rely on wedding business.

Her mail was very threatening.....the usual "I know" you can give me the money back (the usual I know better than you) and then actually going through with the threat to call liveline. Bullying tactics.

She had no comeback once she was exposed, as she knew she was caught out, hence the change of attitude. The old saying "tell the truth and shame the devil" has rung through in this instance.

Anyone who has ever had to deal with this type of customer would love to shake the Managers hand.

It's great to see businesses stand up and defend themselves against these types of threats. They were right to take her threat seriously.

People do this all the time against businesses and it needs to stop. There was another thread on here previousky about a bride to be shaming a hotel and she had put a nasty thread in trip advisor as well as on here. The manager came on And told the truth which was very different than the original story and the liar was not seen for dust.

I would thank this post more than once if I could!

Who knows if she hadn't dragged Liveline into it, maybe the hotel would have done something to meet her halfway / thrown in some extras, even though they were under no obligation to do so.

Stunt backfired fairly spectacularly on her!

I can't understand the hotel saying they had all the food bought in so that was a factor in not refunding them...then the manager turns around and offers them to reschedule the date at no extra cost?!

Professional is not calling someone out live on national radio and humiliating them. Professional is issuing a statement inviting the customer into the hotel for a chat to discuss the issue -perhaps show them the preparations already made and yes offering them something. Losing 16 guests would probably mean one less waiter is required, certainly less food so there should have been scope for a good will gesture.

    she called them out

Hugely generous offer knowing full well she couldn't or wouldn't postpone it. Still upholding their side of the contract and giving her a chance to uphold hers

If she didn't try to blackmail the hotel none of this would have happened. Child or no child she is responsible for her actions.

I love that. "She's a mother, don't say anything negative" we wouldn't even know who she was if she hadn't acted like a gowl

One of the main reasons this went to air was the fact she claimed to have a contact within RTÉ that could turn the screws on the hotel...what more than likely happened was she threatened hotel and then rang liveline in turn researchers rang hotel for there side of the story and found out she claimed to have a contact knowing right well she hadn’t they allowed her on air so they could confront her on that claim ..
I really don’t see why she taught it was still a good idea to live on the show knowing right well she was going to be found out.

You seem almost as mature as the bride to be, ye guys know each other?
Once had a hang nail oh the pain, that's like childbirth right.
Still doesn't justify her behaviour, hotel comes out this looking great, the lady in question mm...not so much.

Erm Nobody "raises" a child in a week.

Plenty of people care for several children and organise lots of things INCLUDING weddings. But most people can do it without making pathetic threats to wrongly damage the reputation of what the bride herself described as a very professional and well run hotel.

P.S. Its not at all at all suspicious that you've just registered to defend this girl:rolleyes:

So when she criticised the hotel she was really criticising herself on national radio?

Ah so it's not her fault, it's the 'baby blues'. So as her spokesperson can you confirm she has post natal depression?

That's my point..I would imagine they'd have a huge panic on if she said thanks I'll have the third Saturday in October!

This is a fairly wild diagnosis to throw against the woman.

Doubt it the only cost the hotel would have is food and extra staff. Whereas the B&G church, car, photographer, band, dj flowers etc etc.

Plenty of people do this and more, and all without trying to destroy the reputation of a decent business.
I feel like I should tell you to stop but I also want to see where this goes.....

She'd only get dates they had left she wouldn't to get to pick the date she wanted, did you hear how horrified she was at billing the guests for no shows yet expected hotel to take the fall? Though look if she'd given hotel time to respond maybe they'd have thrown in some champagne
or something. You'll catch more flies with honey than you will with vinegar
