Strangely I know an Israel too!

I say she'd be great for keeping the neighbour's kids occupied.

One of those cute toddler names that just doesn't suit adults at all.

The Lego Movie made that name not exactly cool, but substantially less uncool.

My friend Sarah Michael's husband is called Michael. I never thought about his full name before. How could his parents?

I've seen quite a few Brian O'Briens and a Ben Bennett... *facepalm*

There's a Gordon Bennett working in a Dunnes Stores. Amusing when they call him over the tannoy. https://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/gordon-bennett.html

Gordon is not a name I'd choose. Sounds like a scary place in a JRR Tolkien book. The mines of Gordon.

Not keen on the ones that were common until the late 20th century, Malcolm, Maureen, Phyllis, Gladys, Derek...but not sure about the Ellas and Sophies and Lotties and Hayleys either

I know a Niomy. There could be an A thrown in there somewhere, but I can't remember where exactly.

do you mean Naomi? A fairly well-established name I think. Not one I would love but don't mind it.

Might be someone I went to school with. Her name was written Naomi and most mere mortals would pronounce that Nay-oh-mee but she insisted it was Nigh-oh-me

I also went to school with a Niamh who decided to jazz her name up be spelling it Naive

Ugh, its just such a horrible name

I met a Piper recently too, and a Brooklyn. He wasn't even walking and had a brand new pair of Nikes, and an Adidas tracksuit.

I just met a Bonead. Like Sinead only Bon. Can't do fadas on my laptop.

Never heard it before but apparently it is a name! I just think it's a bit ugly.

    No, Niomy.
I was told how to spell it, I think the A is just my mind rebelling.
    This is a child.

Just come across this. An expectant mother wants to call her child Iris James if a girl or Gage Theodore if a boy. Her other daughters are Hattie Juniper and Cleo Annika. I can't decide which is the worst but Gage seems particularly awful.

Edit: Wait, I found worse further down the thread: Jayton Edward, Sharlanisha Jarde and Romany Judhe.
