Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Or maybe wait until the deadline to start Friday night matchday threads. Looks like someone didn't get the memo.

The threads are started ages before deadlines on a Saturday. Think it's sad people want to get an advantage by someone forgetting the Friday deadline

I think anyone with the gumption to be checking the fantasy football forum on Boards will know about the deadline.

It's the casual player who could get caught out, so I don't see the problem.

Look and what you have gone and done OP!

    :p

Bavies Alonso Hegazi (Mee / Cedric)

    Elliot
    Daniels Jones TAA
    Mkhi Willian Mooy Alli
    (K)ane Firminho Lukaku

All playing at home so hoping to make up for last week's 35 pointer.

Starting on -4 as I had to get Pogba out and also wanted Kane.

    Good luck all.

Fantasy football, serious stuff. Maybe :pac:

Anyway, had two FTs to burn this week.

    Friday deadline?????

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,300 ✭✭✭✭Father Hernandez

    While it'd begun already

Starting with a -4 after making 3 transfers

    Elliot

    Bavies, Jones, Lowe

    Eriksen, KDB, Mooy, Ritchie

    Lukaku, Firmino, Kane (C)

    Subs: Foster, Carroll, Gamez, Long

Rarely have I been this confident going into a GW, hoping for a big one!

I should think so when you're playing Elliott and benching him! What kinda poker are you playing?

Was just about to ask were people going for Foster or Elliott for those of you who have both?
I'm going to Elliott, Newcastle look solid and Rafa is a good manager who is tight at the back. I'm tempted to double up on them in fact

Foster/Elliot is indeed a bit of a conundrum but I still have trust issues with Newcastle after their 4 goals conceded against Liverpool in 97 cost me that years works fantasy football title.

So I will head in to battle with...

    Foster
    Jones, B Davies, Otimendi
Mikhi, Fabregas (I know I know), Ali, James
    Lukaku, Jesus, Morata.

    (Elliot, Nauchton, R Sanches, Mee.)

TBH, if I only went by boards, I would not have known about tonights deadline.

Think some posters forget that there is banter around the fantasy forum, and take some of the tongue in check updates and wishes too seriously.

    DeGea
    Bavies Hegazi Stephens
    Eriksen Willian Mikhy Mooy
    Kane (c) Firmino Jesus

Eilot Xhaka Mee and Rosenior on the bench

Probably gonna wildcard next week. Usually use it by week 2, amazed it's lasted this long. :D

    Elliot
    Otamendi Jones Bavies
    Mahrez Alli Mkhitaryan Xhaka
    Lukaku Firmino Jesus

    Foster Ward Carroll Mbemba

Really unsure who to captain out of that lot. Presently on Alli, as an insurance policy in the event that Kane goes mad.

Will probably WC next week also.

Forgot I was even playing FPL until I saw this thread....phew

    1 Hit

    Elliot

    Davies | Lowe | Nyom

On -8 after wildcarding last week, but I have a really good feeling about this weekend, not as good as the feeling I had last weekend though.
    De Gea (Elliot)
    Jones, Cedric, Yedlin, (Mee, Rosenior)
    Eriksen, Alexis, Gross, Brady,(Carroll)
    Kane(c), Firmino, Vardy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,265 ✭✭✭COH

    Foster
    PVA - Cedric - Daniels
    Alli - MickeyRyan - GroS - Salah
    Jesua (c) - Firmino - Lukaku

No Kane... the fear is real  but I believe in Jesus

    Fabianski (Naughton)

They were poor on Monday night to be sure but I don't see many points for Carroll.

Very unhappy with my team. Didn't want to take a hit so I couldn't afford Kane with just one transfer:

    Eliott
    Valencia Bertrand David Luiz
    Can Willian Ritchie DeBruyne
    Chicharito Lukaku Firmino(c)

    subs: Schmeichel, Daniels, Monreal, Brady

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,333 ✭✭✭✭PARlance

    WC

    Elliott
    Alonso, Bavies, Jones, Maguire
    Alli, Mkhi, Mahrez
    Firmino, Kane, Vardy

Was really tempted by Mendy or Kola over Alonso.

Just 5 clubs represented in your outfield players? Not enough.

Have you still got your WC?
Can and Willian could get cameo minutes and you've no Spurs.

-4 and WC being activated tonight

Just 5 clubs represented in your outfield players? Not enough.

Balance is for tyres. Clubs are for golf.

I've no real issue doubling or trebling up if form & fixtures look good. I've players from 5 clubs that I think will get points over the next 4-6 weeks, that's as far as I look ahead.

Triple Spurs is a no brainer for me. Double United too. I would imagine that they would be relatively standard calls for a WC.
That's 5 places out of 10 outfield taken by 2 clubs. Given that, the max amount of Clubs in that case is 7.

Triple Leicester (Mahrez) is a bit punty but fixtures are great and I've liked what I've seen in their first 4 games, 3 of them against top opposition... Vardy 1 point off Lukuka who has had an easy start.

Would like some attacking City cover but it's only 1 or 2 transfers away. The way things have gone this season, there's no first 11 without compromise imo.

It's not about representation, it's about picking the players you think will score well. No point picking a player from a certain club just for the sake of it.

    Elliot
    Bavis, Dunk, Cedric
    Salah, Mkhi, Ramsey, Richie, Gross
    Lukaku, (C)ane

    Foster, Mee, J-Rod, Francis

Dunk or Francis? I reckon it'll be a 1-1 event.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,251 ✭✭✭✭Lemlin

Could have went -8 and had planned to until Pogba move went tits up.

    Have gone -4.

Yoshida to Bavies and Mane to Salah.

    Foster
    Lowe, Davies, Jone (Mee, Naughton)
    Alli, Salah, Willian, Tadic (Carroll)
    Kane, Lukaku, Mounie

If Burnley had a better fixture, I would have gone Mounie to Wood.

As per my post above, I think Leicester & Mahrez will score well over the next while.
D Silva might seem safer but Mahrez has outscored him to date.

I'm considering Mehrez over Dilva. I'm also considering going on a mad one and getting Sane. Yes, he's had **** all time but a brace last week can't go unnoticed

    EDIT: I'm going to Mehrez
