Just ordered one using the 10% student discount, have a cousin studying in Europe who set up an account for me.

When i tried to order to Ireland the discount disappeared but since Ireland is not eligible for the discount and the UK is, you can use Parcel Motel, Address Pal or Parcel Wizard, and the discount will pop back up.

Came to €443 using Revolut. :)

I don't think its quite worth €500 since the OnePlus 3 was much cheaper but happy to get it at that price.

Also ordered this Spigen Armor case for £9.99 with free shipping to the UK:

Their UK ebay store is genuine as its mentioned on the website.

Can you add the 20% accessory discount also?

Unfortunately no as it unticks the student discount when you click on it. Both can't be clicked together.

You do get 10% off the total order though so you'll save 2 or 3 euro on an accessory.

How are people finding this phone? Will be picking up a new phone in the next few months and like the look of this one.

Are there any issues with it?

Anyone buy from Oppomart? Looks like you can save 100 euro paying in sterling and using revolut.

Wondering if it ships from Europe etc.

Good: Fast, thin, good camera with zoom and bokeh, loadsa RAM and good value. Near stock android. Dash charge

Bad: no micro SD slot, camera not perfect in low light and software image processing could be better in some circumstances, "jello" effect in scrolling annoys some people.

I'm quite happy with it myself. Personally I'd only have interest in the Nokia 8 as competition although some Honor handsets offer almost-but-not-quite-as-good offerings for a lower price.

I don't get the love for the Nokia 8.

Smaller screen, not as thin, smaller battery, LCD instead of AMOLED screen, no fast charging (which is a biggie for me) etc.

On the plus side it does have an SD card expansion slot (if 128GB isn't enough for you!!) and it has IP54 water resistance.

    Direct comparison here:

Does the lack of expandable memory/micro SD slot actually matter if you already have 128 GB in the OP5?

In most cases, no. Unless you also use your phone as a hard-drive or something. Some people like to have the option at least.

Mainly camera related and, probably more psychologically than anything else, I like the option of micro SD.

128GB is loads for a phone alright but then it costs you to take that jump up from the 64GB model. Personally I took the jump up to the 128GB ... You can never have enough space ;)

Wouldn't be enough for me at the moment.

What are you doing that you need more than 128gb on your phone? Genuine question.

90Gb's of music makes up most of it. Bit much I know!

Ha, that's a lot of music. I'm a Spotify man myself, so listen online or use the download feature if I know I'll be offline. But I'm also paying €10 a month for that convenience.

Is that in Spotify Downloads or mp3s? Or even FLAC?

    Mostly 320kbps mp3s. About 935 full albums.

Why would you want 90GB of music on your phone to scroll through.

I use Google music, I use random playlists which are mixed with some of my own music and I also sync a few albums, listen to them them delete and sync new ones.

What have people done insurance-wise with the OP5?

I've accidentally acquired a new handset without having looked into it. Had an OPX awhile back that I damaged and wasn't economical to repair at the time.

If I can't insure it for a reasonable amount I might just offload it.

I looked into it but didn't bother in the end. Think I was quoted somewhere around €10/€12 p/m

I've a Huawei P9 at the minute, €6 a month to insure. I'm struggling to see the point of keeping the OP5 tbh. I will 100% break it at some point.

    Is anyone on Tescomobile?

Looks like I can't get 4G, so any recommendations for another carrier?
Currently with them on a 30day Sim only plan 20 euros a month. (unlimited calls, text and data).

Tesco Mobile just use the Three network. There was someone a few pages/posts back was having issues getting 4G on Three so maybe reference that and the advice that he got to see if it helps with your situation.

    From here onwards:

Or maybe you mean that Tesco Mobile just don't offer 4G?

I have a OnePlus 5, since launch. The last while I've been getting this message at the bottom of the screen when I unlock it - 'No Connection Detected'.

It doesn't happen every time I unlock, but probably the majority of the time.
It goes away after a few seconds, and doesn't seem to affect the phone, apart from the fact that I can't read whatever text is below until it goes away.

I'm on Tesco mobile, if that makes any difference.

Any ideas what this is about?

Not seen it. Could be Bluetooth-related? Or something to do with a third party app? You could try disabling/uninstalling some of those.

Can't for the life of me get my work emails to push, have to go through the mail app and refresh to get them. Any ideas?

You could have a power saving option that disables your internet connection while the phone hasn't been used for a while. Not sure really.

As per OnePlus's Chat suggestion, I've reluctantly done a full reset. .
    See how that goes.

I've just reset the APN settings, so I should know by the end of the day.

Well I've done a full reset. Worked.

Couple of small niggles with the phone. First is you can't watch hd neflix on the phone itself. Doesn't have the drm licence. Second the Bluetooth won't connect to my sphero bb8 robot..
Otherwise happy enough with the phone. The onboard DAC for music is average so I purchased a dragonfly red and it's great.
    Thanks
    Mick
