Joe Haden to the Steelers. 27m over 3 years

    That's an insane contract.

A lot of big name players seem to stay in division when they move. I was going to say it earlier and suggest that we could see Haden end up at either Cincy, Baltimore or Pittsburgh!

Jesus, have they seen him play the last two years??

I mean I get nobody wants to watch Cleveland (:P), but he fell off a cliff big time for someone earning dollar like that.

Really it's only a 1 yr deal, 7m guaranteed in first year. Can be cut for nothing after that if he's no good

I believe the Browns tried to trade him and then wanted to cut his deal from $11m to $7m. And he then signs for the Steelers essentially for the same money this year. First game for him will be in Cleveland too.

he goes straight in as probably no 2 CB.

One or two of Gay, Cockrell (probably and hopefully), Sensabaugh and especially Golson are under threat.

Steelers also got TE Vance McDonald from the 49ers today.

I might as well share this outside the Pats thread so people won't be wondering why on opening night, why all the Patriots fans in Gillette are waving turquoise towels because I'm sure NFL controlled TV commentators will be told to ignore it.

The background is basically BarstoolSports.com went nuts over Deflategate, basically calling out all the NFL & Goodell's lies, staging a sit in in NFL HQ and getting arrested, etc. During the Deflategate saga, they made and sold a Goodell clown shirt and after the Super Bowl victory, DC Matt Patricia was seen wearing the clown shirt. It turns out that Goodell was pissed at Matt Patricia and was still pissed months later. After skipping out of coming to Foxboro for opening night 2 years ago, this will be the first time he will face the Pats fans since Deflategate.

Yes, most Pats fans have moved on from Deflategate and Barstool were even debating whether to let it die or not, but they wanted a hilarious way to get some revenge on Goodell so they purchased 70,000 Goodell clown towels and will be handing them out on Opening Night.

The Goodell clown towel opening day movement is picking up steam.

This a billboard on Route 1 which is basically the only road into Gillette stadium.

Can't really say I agree there.

Well that all just sounds HILARIOUS.

I see some non-Pats fans haven't moved on either.

Why can't being moved on and having a laugh at Goodell's expense be basically mutually exclusive?

For two years, Deflategate made me irrationally angry. As a big Pats' fan the lies, leaks and injustice negatively affected me personally, as sad as that sounds. But when we won the Super Bowl last year, right in Goodell's face, it was over, we won. All those stupid controversies that tried to take away from the Patriots success meant nothing. I feel like I have completely moved on and so have the majority of Pats, living in Boston I can tell you that nobody talks about it anymore.

Just because I've moved on doesn't mean I forgot that Deflategate ever happened and i can't comment on the parallels of it and the Zeke Elliot case or have a laugh at Goodell's expense.

    Breaking News

Texans signing WR DeAndre Hopkins to a 5 year extension which includes the highest ever guaranteed to a WR

    $49 Million guaranteed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

looks a lot but it makes great sense for the Texans to get in ahead of the likes of Mike Evans and Odell Beckham where the bar gets raised again. There's some receivers going to get paid over the next 12 months.

Jesus the jets just gave the seahawks sheldon Richardson that's a huge addition

The jets seem to be blowing the house up now that the owner is "across the pond" in London.

So who's meant to be the starter for the jets next Sunday week ?

Jesus when you think back on it, he did one serious con job on the Texans.

    Well, the Texans conned themselves...

To be fair the Broncos really dodged a bullet when he turned them down.......... Imagine where they would be without Siemien & Lynch!! :D

It's hardly suprising when the Browns named the young lad the starter. Brock had one good few games when peyton was injured when the broncos won it all and he lived off that.

I think the Jets got a very good deal for Richardson. He will want like something crazy like 12mil a year next spring so the Jets are getting good value in a solid-ish WR2 and a 2nd round pick. Richardson has been very inconsistant the last 3 years and they already have 2 better DE's.

No real shock, he's been on the trade block for the last two seasons and there was no chance of him getting a new contract. He was the odd man out between Williamson, Wilkerson and himself, and Bowels ended up playing outside linebacker! He'll be back to his normal position with the Seahawks and I think he'll be an absolute stud for them.

I know the jets needed to get rid of him the jeasus was more that the seahawks got him to plug into there d it's amazing for them

Bears looking like they're going to cut Mark Sanchez. I'm pretty surprised by this to be honest if it does happen. I assumed the reason he's there is as a mentor to trubisky, like he did last year in Dallas.

Kearse is very inconsistent though. Has made some crucial plays down through the years (overtime against green bay in NFC championship game) but also has one of the worst drop rates in the league. Good blocker though
