The fact that the league got rid of the 90 to 75 man roster cut down for this season means there will be nearly 40 players from every team cut at once after the last pre season game and the first week of the regular season.

It seems mental and unfair on players but it was the teams themselves who requested it apparently so they wouldn't have to play any of their guys in week 4

News breaking that Matthew Stafford is to be the highest paid player in the NFL.

I think it' a scheme fit issue. The Bills are moving to a 4-3 set this year under Sean McDermott. But surprising still.

    Exhibit A

If Ragland is half-decent then it's a bargain for the Chiefs. Ragland is under contract on the cheap for three seasons. Spotrac has Ragland's cap hit at about 2.8m over the three years.

Coming into the draft Ragland was talked about as a 2 down linebacker. Not good in the open field or coverage so above clip just reinforces that

It was done to help younger guys. It gives them that fourth game to possibly show something and secure a late roster spot.

I think it will be interesting to see what the Browns can get, if anything for Joe Haden. A very much declining talent imo, nagging injuries and a 14.4mil salary. He is due like 10mil next year but none of it is garenteed and he won't get it. But I think he can do a job for a team if really stuck. I would not be giving 1-3 round draft pick for sure anyway.

The titans have donated €1 million to the Houston flood fund set up. That's a nice touch given the titans former home is Houston Texas.

yeah very nice gesture, titans owner is from Houston aswell.
Hopefully all of this money gets used correctly

Joe Haden has been released. He's been a shell of his former self since he signed that deal.

Its been coming and not many teams can afford to pick up that contract i'd believe. Does the release have an affect on his contract with a new team.. or do they have to pick up the contract he had with the browns. i'm not a cap expert to understand it.

Watch the patriots come in and pick him up and have him as a first team all pro by seasons end.

If he's released hiss contract is voided, Cleveland would have had to pay his guarantees for this season I think, but he'd now have to negotiate a new contract.

JJ does keep saying in his tweets that he's going to make sure the money is used the right way so I'm taking that as a big enough threat to stop people trying to fcuk with the it.

Cheers Adrian. I thought that was the case alright but wasn't 100% sure. If a team gives him a heavily incentivised they could have a gem. I'd love the Cowboys to go in for him and see where it goes on a 1 year prove it contract? But i don't think it happens as someone will offer a better contract to him.

Would him clearing waivers or not have any bearing on his contract?

II don;t think he is subject to waivers, something to do with how long he has been in the league, not sure how all that works to be honest...

1/2 Former Browns CB Joe Haden is not subject to waivers and is free to sign with another team after 4 pm today. And he will.

Joe Haden's agent Drew Rosenhaus on his client: "Tons of interest in him. He will have a new deal with another team by tomorrow afternoon."

I think it's the number of years that a player has been in the league which determines if he needs to clear waivers. Something to do with being a 'vested veteran'. It's very confusing.

Cowboys v Texans due to be played tomorrow night has been cancelled

Makes sense - I was surprised they switched it.

I was surprised they moved it. The players for the Texans can't be in any form to play a (no disrespect to the preseason) but a pointless game.
